Need new headphones.

My headphones are getting a bit old and starting to crack when playing audios. I was wondering if you guys could suggest me a new pair of headphones that are (preferably) under 30 dollars. At most, I'm willing to pay 35 maybe 40 dollars if it really is worth it.

I want the quality to be decent enough, doesn't have to have noise cancelling, and preferably a cable that's longer than 1.2 meters. It's fine if it isn't I guess, I'll be getting a laptop anyways.

I recommend the ATH M50 though, but it'll cost you ~140

If it's really that good, I might put off buying headphones till much later when I get my own part time job and such.

Is it that much better than a 30/40/50 dollar headphone?

By far, but its hard to explain. You should probably go to Best Buy and try them for yourself before you put down that much money.

They are actually designed for audio production. Its comfortable, durable, and sounds freaking amaaaaaazinnnnnnng. I love it so much.

They should have it at Best Buy if you wanna try it. Its not in the headphone section though, they have it in the instruments section where they got all the digital audio equipment like electric keyboards and synthesizers.

There is a product 1 year warranty on it, so when the employees ask you "would you like the best buy 1 year warranty?" you can say "FUCK NO NIGGA IM GOING BARE BACK", and they'll give you the concerned look and say "but if it breaks..." and you can whip out that benjamin from your wallet and slam it on the table and say "YOLO!"

But you'll know it already has a warranty. They wont.

I'm unfamiliar with lower end headphones ($30-50ish), but at a midranged price of $120-150ish, I'm gonna have to recommend Sennheiser HD 555s used. Think you can get them for under a hundred if you're lucky. Don't buy them cracked or they'll fall apart. HD 558s are also nice. I just recommend the 555s because I've used them myself and feel they're worth a good bit more than they're selling for.

The ATH-M50s are also good, from what I've heard. It's slightly bass boosted and imbalanced, but most people like the sound.

I used to have a pair of Sony MDR-XB500's and the sound quality was amazing. Unfortunately I neglected to get the warranty on them and due to an unfortunate incident they were completely thrashed, but they're pretty durable.
(Also only around $65!)

Right now I have pair of white DNA's and the quality is better than the Sony ones, but I got these for $100 during black friday and really wouldn't recommend dropping $200 on them unless you care about looks as much as I do.

I will agree with you about the bass. But I'm lazy so I'm not going to mess with the eq in foobar.

Not to mention on bass heavy songs the headphones massage my ears. :tea:

Really? I felt that they were amazing o-O never had a problem comfort wise with them ( save for the incredibly short cord. argh).

Might consider those sony ones then. The DNA's are way too overkill for me imo. Either way, I take my in ear outside, not my headphones, so don't really care too much about looks lol.

The ATH one looks nice as hell, and found them for 112 on amazon, but aghh 100+.

Bah. Alright. Most of these are 50+ and I was told that practically all decent ones are...so I guess I'll just splurge a bit heh. Well. Either way. Going to take Cucu and Teneshi's advice and just try some on at bestbuy first I guess.

Well the one I recommend sits right at 99 dollars but it sounds better than many of the other brands I've tried that were far more expensive. Its a really good deal for what it is.

Definitely try these things before you buy them. People have preferences, even to sound quality. And of course, ergonomics. These things are best determined when you can see and feel the item for yourself.
