The appearance suggests bug. The color scheme, however, suggests that Eevee might actually have a normal evolution...
Then again, what do I know? Those creepy eyes could totally make it a potential Ghost type.

I'm not sure how I feel about the design of the head.

So the new Evee is Skyla!
I knew it, that's why she it's so attractive.

It is rumored to be 'Light' type actually. First known 'Light' type much like Umbreon was the first known 'Dark' type in Gen II

The bow-things on it remind me of butterflies, so yeah I'd think it'd be bug or flying. I feel like it'd be a little late to add "light-type," unless they also plan on releasing a "sound-type" simultaneously.

Well, not exactly. You'd think they would have added a Light type with Dark in Gen II with Umbreon, but no. So it makes sense to just add Light + something that was already there since there will be two new Eeveelutions.
Ninfia or Nympheon is the first of two Eevee evolutions to be introduced in Pokemon X and Y. Much like Umbreon in Gen II was one of the first known Dark type pokemon, Nympheon of Gen VI is one of the first Light type pokemon. Much like the Dark, Pyschic, Fighting and the Grass, Water, Fire trinities, Light pokemon complete a trinity with Dragon and Steel types. As when Magnemite and Magneton retroactively had Steel added to their types, most of the Fairy egg group will have Light added as a secondary type, such as Chansey, Audino, and Clefairy.
Thanks to Tinsares for digging into the official pokemon X and Y website source code for this.
Which explains the sparkles around her in this:

ehhHH. Gotta be honest, I'm a little disappointed if this is true. I like that they're tying in the fairy eggs into the type, but then I think it should be called Fae-type, or Mythic-type (though I guess Mythic would kind of include dragons so that doesn't work). I'd rather the trinity be Light-type, Dark-type, and Dragon-type since Light-, Steel-, and Dragon-types seems like a lame-ass trinity where "Fae-type" would fit better.
And a light-type Eeveelution could been a lot more impressive than that.
Edit: Unless they plan on light-type being actually about light/light-waves and not a "holy" thing or something idk.

It looks SO out of place with the other Eveelutions D: Maybe remove the bow near it's ear, I mean it has too much going on. Just look at the other Eveelutions, they are a bit more simple but still cute :( The name though, I can't even think of any type it ties into.

I've been seeing this new Pokemon all over my dashboard on tumblr. I wouldn't have guessed it was an Eevee evolution. It may have worked better as a stand-alone, new Pokemon. Still...I want it.

Apparently a "ninfea" is the italian word for water lily. So some people are thinking it will be the first dual-type eeveelution, like a grass-water or something.
But I doubt it.

Realized that the information of the 'Light' type has turned out false. So I will go with my prior guess at being a bug type because of how closely related it's name is to the word Nymph which is relating to insects and/or creatures of the forest.
THOUGH LIGHT WOULD BE KINDA COOL.
