  Let's have a little discussion about the infamous member we've all grown to either love, hate, or tolerate.
  
  At first, we thought he wouldn't really last and he'd get banned for spamming. Eventually, people got annoyed and started to troll him in his threads. It was innocent trolling at first, but now it's serious. I can't even read one thread of his without seeing people reply rudely towards him.
  
  I'm no saint, I was harsh towards him at first, but I've learned that it's best to either ignore, or at least try to help him. Something a few members, who shall not be named, need to learn.
  
  Disgusting, is what it is. It's disgusting how quickly a whole forum can turn against a single member who has done absolutely nothing wrong.
  
  You all need to grow the heck up.

  They're judging Splat because of his posts. A lot of you just think he's a troll or any other stereotypical thing, when it'd be better to think outside the damn box.
  The few posts that I've read about Splat where he gives some of his background.
  If they can be proven, he's 21 or so, has ADHD and probably some other "disorders" and has a rough life at home.
  
  The fact that people won't give him the benefit of the doubt is the problem, along with not wanting to just ignore him.
  Those that say they hate him and he needs to GTFO, are the ones that say it doesn't matter when it's brought to their attention or the Mods attention.
  Yet, if it didn't matter, why are you replying to his threads?
  Keeping a single minded concept towards a situation and not wanting to see the other side of the coin are why things like this happen in my opinion :sigh:

  He has done literally nothing wrong, unless being inquisitive is a crime, but you guys act like an angry mob with torches and pitchforks, it's fucking ridiculous.

  Also have you noticed how he immediately stopped posting after his keylogger thread? Did someone perhaps convince him to delete system32?

  You can't justify bullying, but I'm curious as to what the hell you think is baiting (and why you all can't be mature enough to not react like a 5 year old).

  That's highly debatable. He could simply be a younger/naive person, in which case then it is disgusting. He could also be a sophisticated troll, which is a possibility you're not considering.

  I think there are some double standards going on here on both sides. For example, I don't believe it's okay to promote hate on a single person if they're simply naive (For example, a real person). That's unnecessary flaming which shouldn't be tolerated. At all.
  
  But at the same time, it's not about everyone learning to deal with it, either. If you're saying that his behavior should be tolerated, then other ignorant/spammy/etc behavior should be tolerated from other members. Such as one picture posts being tolerated in the Mabinogi Talk forum.
  
  There's something called compromise and I think everyone would benefit from it, including Splat - if he is indeed innocent.

  Posting a question asking how long the butlers/maids will be on sale for, in the Mabinogi talk forum instead of the questions forum, when there is both an announcement on the top of the Mabination forum and on the Mabinogi homepage.
  
  I think that's baiting. Especially since it's not the only time he's done something like that.

  Asking questions or enjoying being spammy in the spam section is baiting, and even if he were, it's no excuse.

  We've been trying to get him to use google or mabiwiki, but we can't simply post it. Somebody else will answer his question and then we're simply be ignored by splat in favor of the answer.
  Also, iirc, he did use it once. But totally lied about finding nothing on something, so he was lying then I guess.

  We don't know if he's a troll or not, however. While you must strive to give people the benefit of the doubt - You also have to take into account that it works both ways. Lots of people have shown him how to utilize the wiki, the mabinogi home page, the search function, etc, and he still refuses to use these.
  
  If he was a naive, or even disabled person, he would have made some effort to try to come to the table. I'm not sure what he has done on this regard, so I can't comment.
  
  But I do know that if I, or other members for example, purposefully posted like he does, then there would be consequences. And I have the infraction to say so.
  
  When an issue is becoming this much of a problem it needs to be examined and scrutinized. To use an analogy: When someone is disrupting the general public for a significant amount of time, the law enforcement steps in. At first it is the public's responsibility to use better judgement to ignore the person and move on, but not when the person stands in the same spot for 3 months harassing people.
