I feel your pain, but I just try to remember that not EVERYONE is like that. Its hard to do that though, as in high school, most people are incredibly incomprehensive and seemingly moronic (at least at my high school).

No, it's not just your high school. I was fortunate to escape most of the idiocy after sophomore year with AP and honors classes, however.
Alchemy looks interesting, and if it might be buffed I'm now interested in actually researching it on the wiki.
On armor, ranged skills, etc: I may be somewhat new to the game, but it seems like if you stop making giants and elves specialized and branch skills and capabilities across races, they become less and less specialized. Eventually everyone may as well be humans that are overgrown or with pointy ears.

all going to be totally useless, but who knows.

I believe the crystals still function normally, allowing you to use them even after the update (gotta test with the rain crystals i still have)

I just read these on another website.
It appears that the NA community continues to be ignorant as fuck.
We'll have to wait for DevCat to patch the test server before we can accurately examine those skills.
Hhhahahhhhahhahaha
On a side note, I haven't read the last 30 pages of this thread or whatever. I heard lances are getting screwed over, so I came back to ask what the new endgame weapons are.

Lances are still good but when you're shaving off only 12 protection out of an enemy's 100 or 200, it doesn't even matter.
It's almost preferable to use a normal 2h, such as Dragon Fang, Glory Swords, and Highlander Claymore instead of the lance just because of the non minimal penalty, ability to use normal counter and defense, and the fan splash.
But lance charge is still there and good. Some may still prefer lances merely because it's still slightly more in damage.
Because of the new balance formula and heavy armor penalty, giant dual wield is as good as dead outside of ego iron mace. in fact, it's possible that humans can match or even outmatch slightly the average of a giant dual wield (non ego) because no matter how much harder giants hits on average, having only 20~30% balance vs. a human's 80% (from sword + combat mastery + high sword balance) makes humans average better out (though giants still hit harder on the scale, just not on average).
Because of the tank mechanics of heavy armor, dual wield is surprisingly good. Ping - > double slash very easily. Shield is also good, especially for giants who can use a high balance stat with swords such as lv.6 HLC and a shield with heavy armor.
Elves can still use light armor + accessories with more ability to absorb damage.
Humans are... well humans.

I'm excited for Alchemy Changes, Heavy armor and Shield Masteries~
Just need to get unbanned, It's sad that a company can ban you without even feeling the need to at least tell you why you were banned, 12 more days :(.

Then why would they wear anything but heavy armor? Why do they need ALL the damage, and ALL the defense?
Because there's no other armor mastery? Because that's what they're supposed to be wearing? That's the whole point of the giant, a melee tank in heavy armor with most defense and most melee damage, that's the what the race is. They shouldn't have to lose a ton of damage from their only useful major skillset because of the 100+ dex they already lose affecting their balance which is already low to begin with. The whole purpose of the -35% dex was to prevent people from wearing heavy armor and using bows. Giants don't have range and don't have another armor mastery either. They need to have that dex, or have the mastery add balance, because otherwise humans will beat them due to higher balance.

You forget puppets, the -dex is to stop tanking with puppets.

I'd think it'd be unfair for Giants to not have the -35% despite it being logical, Because they would not only get allot of defence and protection but also maximum attack, Either way i don't know how much Balance effects because i'm stupid so ill probably still wear heavy armor :thumb: (Or start wearing heavy armor i guess).

People are making a big deal out of the balance thing. You can sacrifice some max damage for Balance if you really care about it that much.
People who use Spike enchants might as well stick to Stamp:
If Age 16+, Max Damage+8
Balance+10%
If Age 20+, Min Damage-4
Critical-5%
Enchant enabled rank regardless
More Enchants:
Fierce (two handed weapons):
If Counterattack Rank 8+, Max Damage+24
Balance+10%
Will-20
Repair Cost+3%
Elegant (hand/feet):
Critical+5%
Balance+10%
MP-20
Dignified (gloves):
Critical+5~7%
Balance+10~12%
MP-5
Repair Costx2
Personalize
Composer (feet):
If Composing Rank 9+, Critical+3~5%
If Muscial Knowledge Rank 8+, Critical+4%
Balance+5%
If Playing Instrument Rank 9-, Dex-10
Repair Costx2
Personalize
Strider (strider):
Str+16
Balance+10%
Vision (heavy armor):
Max Damage+10
Balance+10%
Excavator (Accs):
Balance+12%
Dex+5
Glass fragment (armor/clothing):
Max Damage+5
Balance+5%
Swarming (all):
Max Damage+4
Min Damage+4
Balance+3%
Tireless (weapons):
If Combat Mastery Rank B+, Max Damage+7
Balance+5%
Stamina+15
Director (feet):
Critical+3~5
Balance+10
Marionette HP+20
Hell, from just looking at this, I can tell you can get:
30% Balance, 10 Dex, 8 min damage and 8 max damage from Accessories (Excavator Swarming)
10% balance and 10 max from heavy armor (Vision)
10% balance and 16 str from boots (Strider)
10% Balance, and 5% critical from gloves (Elegant)
10% balance and 24 max from a lance (Fierce, assuming lances count as two handers). Knight Lances have an innate 20% balance too.
You can get 70% Balance from those enchants alone (you'd be missing quite a bit of max from other Max damage enchants, but it sucks that Balance isn't crap anymore, right?). If you count the lance (assuming you are using one), you'd be sitting at 90% Balance (when it's capped at 80%). So guys, tell me, what's the big deal? When I didn't have +200dex, I just stuck to dual weilding Gladii. Now everyone who doesn't have 80% balance will have to stick to Balance enchants until they are ready to move on to max damage ones. Hell, you aren't even obliged to wear Heavy armor (looking at you, giants).
For puppeteers:
You can wear clothing. That's all.

NomadTrooper wrote on 2013-03-25 03:51
Ok, repeat after me:
Heavy armor ALWAYS lowered your max damage.
Heavy armor ALWAYS lowered your max damage.
Heavy armor ALWAYS lowered your max damage.
You see, there are these things called accessories. They raise your stats by insane amounts. Wearing heavy armor meant you choose not to wear these items, for the extra defense (usually in the form of ping). Now, you can wear both accessories with your armor, and if you want, you can get all your balance back from them alone and be right back where you were as a giant, only with extra space left over for some damage on your enchants with your balance.
You lost nothing, in fact you GAINED damage.
You didn't lose balance from duel wielding.
You didn't lose balance with broad axes.
You didn't lose balance.
GOT IT!?
