So they didn't fix the formula?
I think that part about charges or w/e was referring to alchemy magic (via crystallization).
So they didn't fix the formula?
So you're telling me that the editted formula from this new patch doesn't do much? That's lame. I'd rather do higher damage than have better utility because I want to deal more damages, and even with the "utility" Many other skillsets will still outdamage us, even if we can instant-cast every 3 minutes or uses Meteor Storm every 30 minutes. :l
"i'd rather show off than be useful"
yeah that sounds like you.
more OT: is anyone else having issues with KR test? i patched, and i'm erroring before my client starts. ; ;
Is blaze still using old formula? (ie: still doing lulz OP damage)
And now mages can fight to the flow of combat and blow shet up. Seems fun. o3o
That AP requirement is already ugly, now it's even uglier. :l
Magic has decent utility now, but the DPS is still godawful. Instacast adds a neat 15 second burst (that is frankly only good for one skill) but doesn't add anything to consistency or reliability. And the new damage formula nerfs what DPS (both single target and AOE) Magic had in IS and Hail.
Well consider this then....at rank 1 the skill has a damage base of 12000 damage....
Let's assume Meteor strike gets a massive boost from magic attack....1000+ int= 200 magic attack...stave can have a potential 84 magic attack from special upgrades...so 284+ 60 from fire mastery...+52? from upgrades....396 magic attack...+ another 40 m. atk from fire master title...+ another 60 from magic attack enchants...
496 magic attack...I really can't imagine how huge of a boost it will be, but considering one of the training requirements said "Deal 300,000 damage on enemies" I'm pretty sure it MIGHT be able to hit for 120,000 damage non-crit at rank 1... imagine doing that kind of damage every 6 minutes....yea....
I'm not really sure it'll hit that high, especially non-crit.
I think for completing training like that, you'd want to go for quantity of enemies.
Find a group of 10 enemies and do 30k each.
Something like a group of barrier spikes in Battle for Taill or something.
And to go from 8k~12k base damage to that much, the magic attack formula would have to be pretty friendly to it.
Even, then it doesn't warrant such a MONSTROUS cooldown, at all.
Not when other skillsets can do the same thing, constantly.
Well, that IS the curse of being a mage of Mabinogi right? Seeing other skill sets outperform your own?...
I feel it for the newer mages, 5000+ ap cost for a skill set can be a turn-off.
To be honest, I don't see metero storm being OP, that 30minute cooldown makes it very limited(Great for bosses/final NPC round/field bosses ect)
