  I vaguely remember it no longer being a lawless trollzone, which is why it had to be renamed from ma/b/inogi to bean rua. It wasn't really spam that was the problem, but everyone just being total assholes to each other.

  But about the spam problem glad to see it being taken care of, even if it is a band-aid solution. But any step towards the right direction is good. As for me I think spam is when you either make excessive amount of threads (like Splat has in the past, even though it fluctuates every day), or when you really post an image response that really doesn't respond to anything in general. Also, posting a large amount of gifs/images in one post I find very annoying, not to be a dick but if you're going to post an image response I think one gif/image should do it.
  
  I feel Bean Rua is okay right now (but that's just me), the only problem I had was the over excessive amount of threads that were made per day by one user. And I don't think I've ever spammed. ._____. At least I don't think I ever have.

  A discussion of what counts as spam seems helpful. As for the Bean Rua, I've never understood why someone would have a problem with what other people post in there (as long as it's not rude), and I don't think I ever will. It seems like it's always been understood that Bean Rua basically is for spam. I wouldn't be sorry to see the section go altogether since it seems to be where all the drama flows from and every actual quality thread it contains could probably fit in another section or else wouldn't be missed much (but that's probably minority opinion and an unrelated issue).

  Something like this would be preferable, in my opinion, were it possible, but overall I don't think the community is mature enough for it. On second thought, I think most users could handle it, but there's a small, vocal minority of people who are dead set on disliking Splat that will cause a fuss the fist time he goes over 5. This won't work for long; we'll need a firmer rule.

  Back on the Spam issue, I never really saw an issue with spam so I have no concrete examples on it. The only issue I see is the one I mentioned which is already handled properly if one simply reports it.

  Even if he makes a positive and constructive post that leads to a nice discussion, we just have a bunch of "oh boy, splat thread" comments that roll about. Most of what he posts on bean rua really aren't any different from what other post. He's mostly sharing what he's found on the internet anyways.

  People got quite heated up about Splat, it was really sad.
  I'm 99% sure most of them refuse to accept that they need to add him to their ignore list.

  People who complain are the same people doing exactly what they're complaining about. That is why this is so difficult for me. I just don't understand what everyone is expecting. They call out spam but are spamming themselves. I asked for specific examples and yet I haven't gotten one from those people either. Probably because they realize this.
