Ego wands and Cylinders after G18.
Considering switching from my Bow ego just because...sword egos (lol not using lances) are shit, and Bow egos are very quickly being outclassed by the Gacha spam of R1 hlbs.
Do ego wands and cylinders become chomping machines of death after G18? Or is it still not worth having an ego?
Concerned about the MP usage on ego wands.

If you're a person who is starting with decently enchanted gear... decent stats (600 minimum cumulative) then...
Gun Mastery and Reload - RANK THIS as soon as you can, but don't focus on it. Why? It passively ranks itself. Reload is one of the -hardest- skill to train, if you try to manually train it, you'll go insane. Think chain cylinder but 2x worse.. so just rank it when possible.
Skill Ranking Order:
Shooting Rush - > This is what you'll use the most because of its moderate cooldown. You'll be using this skill a lot. At rank 1, it is a set 400% damage to all enemies in your path, regardless if you hit 1, or 10, and consumes 10 bullets.
Bullet Storm - > Your next AOE. It works like Crash Shot, the more enemies, the more damage, up to 600%. This one can hit up to 12 enemies at rank 1. This is your deadly group killer, however because of its cooldown, you'll want to raise Shooting Rush First.
Crossbuster - > Gunner Smash/Heat Buster, what makes this interesting is that you can use it with a bit of distance, like lances in a sense. This skill knocks the enemy back and you back as well. Well, I guess you can think of it more as heat buster instead of smash in terms of how it knocks the enemy and you back, but with a whopping 800% multiplier at rank 1.
Faraway - > Gunner counter. You can even use it manually... when an enemy attacks you, just press and click the enemy, can be used in the middle of their attack combo. What makes this interesting is that you can also use it without an enemy hitting you. See an enemy running to your face? Hit it with faraway to knock yourself and the enemy back. Despite being called gunner counter, you can use regular counter. So if you have two enemies attacking, regular counter for the first enemy - > faraway for the second, knocking yourself and both the enemies back.
Closer/Frenzy - > Your choice here really. Closer allows you to create distance or to close distance. You can use it on dead bodies, puppets, allies, etc. While Closer opens up combos, Frenzy opens up DPS. It's up to you really.
Theory: Why raise the AOE skills first along the mastery and reload. Besides mastery and reload needing to be ranked passively, Gunner skills really focus on dealing AOE, so you want to focus on those. Once you get the AOEs (gunner specialty), you'll want to focus on cross buster for massive single damage. Why not frenzy for single damage? You'll need something that isn't on a 2-3 minute cooldown for single enemy use. Once Crossbuster is finished, Faraway is useful in evading damage and creating distance. While this may not seem a lot, the ability to push any enemy away from you to set up combos, or have "2" effective counters (normal counter + faraway) helps with multi aggro. Closer is useful in closing distance or creating it. What makes it useful is that you can "close" the distance with archers or mages. Frenzy is not needed until last due to its innate ability. If you're Dealla SE + Speed Attack+ set, you can definitely can wait until later to rank this.

Cylinder egos are good with Enchanted/Upgraded Guard cylinders, since they only get a % bonus.
Wand egos are still meh.
Personally, I'd wait to see how things fare out after the update.
Okay, do the metalic Guard cylinders use metal dyes/fixes?

No.
The fragmentation list is sorely behind in terms of being updated.
The same can be explained for synthesis.
Tried repping but I've already given you too much it says so here is my eternal thanks!!

What effects does the change of S-type special upgrades on wands have on their usability? Does it make R types better now? Basically, how is it different?

Until someone posts the updated magic formula, nobody can accurately answer your question. Sorry.

No problem, thanks anyway.
Can you shieldless charge with guns?
Assuming a fairly level playing field in regards to stats/equipment. How does gun single target dps stack up against fighter?

Chain cylinder wasnt so bad to rank.

[S]No, you end up switching when performing shied-less charge. T[/S]hough strangely you can use assault slash with it.
Another source says yes... strangely enough. I'll find out personally later on my giant.

Would it be better to train chain cylinder right now, while it doesnt have a cooldown and 100% rate, or wait for the update?
I'm currently rA, if it matters

What kind of stat bonuses does the gunner talent provide? YOu know, the talent bonuses. I checked the gunner link, but didn't see it.
I believe it would boost your Strength and Int as that skill set relies on those 2 stats. Similar to how Puppetry raises Dex and Strength.

BTW for those wondering, one of the requirements for reload for one rank is:
Use Reload - 7,000 (3,500 with talent) times
And some of the requirement is: "Reload while clip is completely empty..."
It sounds easy, but many people like to reload when they're low in able to fight effectively. Some skills like Shooting Rush requires you to have 10 bullets, so if you have 6 and try to use it, you'll be reloading.

That's ok, I was planning on spending 5 hours in Provo anyways.
