  As long as the Republicans keep insisting on putting down Obama care and the Democrats not willing to compromise further on it, the US government isn't going to get anywhere on this issue.
  
  The entire premise of the US was found on compromise. Without compromise our country can't hope to get anything done. That is the price of democracy.

  The issue here is that there is literally no reason for Democrats to compromise in the first place. There is nothing to compromise on.
  
  The Republicans are nothing more than butthurt children who refuse to accept that Obamacare is here to stay. Instead, they're willingly holding the government hostage, and then try to blame it on the Democrats, when in reality, they are the sole cause of the issue here.

  Arpanet which is the first instance of what the internet looks like today would have happened anyways. The key people involved in its development were non military (and at least one of them if I remember wasn't even american). Universities or other governments would have gone in this direction regardless of military funding. Networking already existed, too. Only a matter of time.

  I don't have much information on the matter other than what President Obama said during his announcement of the government shutdown, and I am not willing to just trust what he says. Maybe Republicans are being assholes but come on, the president of United States can't just go "It's yo fault, not my problem" Obviously he didn't handle this shit right. This bs can only happen when both sides refuse to compromise.
  
  If you believe it's entirely Republican's fault, let me ask you this. Why didn't Democrats withheld the bill? What you got to pass this right away? They didn't back down not because they believe this bill is the more important than a functioning government, they did it because they are unwilling to back down from Republican threats.
  
  The fact that you don't think not backing down is Democrats' fault is something you should think about. Maybe you are biased on the matter.

Negotiating with the GOP is as insane as negotiating with Al Qaeda at this point. And Do you even understand how democracy works? Do you really think a minority of a minority should be allowed to undermine settled law because they don't like it, by destabilizing the government's operations? Are you saying that a political party should be allowed to bring the country to a halt in order to stop a law already shown to be constitutional?

  I will be straight with you. I am a libertarian. I don't like Republicans OR Democrat. It is also important not to fall into false polarization, which means consider a person who belongs to a group encompass every thing said group represent. There are pro-life democrats and republicans who support Obama care. This "Either with me or against me" attitude is not helping anyone.
  
  Another thing you should consider is: Should you really ship people with different opinions out? That's a dangerous line of thinking which could lead to the thoughts of dictator. Yes it's easier ship these people out, but everyone have different views, even if you shipped right wing people out, some other issues will come up and there will be people with opinion you consider dangerous for the well-being of the country.
  
  Dismiss nothing, consider everything fairly, hear both sides of the story. That's the wise thing to do. It may be painful to examine things you consider utterly stupid, but even broken clock is right twice a day, even fools can be right sometime.
