Not at all. I feel you guys are misunderstanding me. I don't want Republicans to "win", there is no winning. And I don't really care who is "right" because when someone force your hands, being right means exactly diddly squad. I know in a real conflict negotiation, you can't win them all. What you do is give them something they want and get something you want out of it.
Imagine it like this if you will. You are in a car dealership buying cars. Do dealers usually just bargain the price with you over and over, or does he say "Ok, I will throw in this and that in the car's feature, do we get a deal?" A stereo or tires may not worth as much as the price he's asking for, but maybe it's something the customer wants. Do you see what I am saying? I am on nobody's side, I just want the shutdown to resolve, and blaming one side is not going to help.
Your right, both parties were originally at fault. But it's not a compromise of one side refused to budge until the other gives in entirely. The democrats, from what I have read, gave in to multiple budget demands, only refusing to give in on the affordable care act.
What have the republicans put in this compromise?
In a fair compromise, the care act would be repealed, but something has to be given for that to happen. Like someone above said, make homosexuality a consitutional right and cut millitary funding by a few trillion. I'm no lawyer but that sounds fair to me. Or something like that at the least.
Until it's a fair compromise or they are forced out of office, nothing is going to change because they know the outcome of this is going to change millions of lives. Imagine knowing that the people that elected you will all be effected and suffer if you give in to an unfair compromise.
