Just finished up one of my first pokemon
Storm the Dragonite
Ability: Multiscale
Nature: Modest
Item: TBA (Leftovers/Wise Glasses)
IVs: 31/x/31/31/31/31
EVs: 4/x/x/252/x/252
Moveset: Hurricane/Thunder/Surf/Agility
Thoughts?
Assault Vest Goodra does everything Dragonite does better. Especially if you're using it as a special attacker.
Special Dragonite with Multiscale was cool, but right now he's really only good for his Extreme Speed on a physical set. Because Goodra is better.
Goodra is better.

So, um, I'm new to breeding and I got a question.
Currently I'm trying to get a 31/x/31/31/31/31 Charizard.
I have two Charmanders in the daycare right now that have x/31/x/31/31/x IVs, will they procreate a cool bean child with four perfect EVs? Or will they all be x/31/x/31/31/x Chamanders now?
This too confusing.

DD over agility, the power boost turns dragonite into such a powerful sweeper.
There are also better pokemon to have water/wind attacks on, fireblast/earthquake outrage, draco meteor are all pretty good attack to concider instead of thosr two.

goodra is being compaired to latios as far as everything is going right now, not quite sure how latios v dragonite goes though.
I personally plan to use an AV sp attacking goodra on my team.

1. Dragon Dance boost ATK, not S.ATK
2. It's meant to be sent out when Rain Dance is in effect. so Hurricane/Thunder Never Miss and Surf gets a 50% boost The nickname really should have given it away.
I play tested a little bit in Battle Maison(No item put on yet) and looks like Sylveon walls it but it also takes a hit pretty well. I could have her learn Steel Wing in place of Surf and that'd cover her weaknesses pretty well.
EDIT: Overwrote Agility for Steel Wing and gave it Shell Bell, let's see how this goes.
EDIT2: Now I remember why Shell Bell is never used. And seeing as I have only attacking moves on Dragonite I may switch over to the Assault Vest but then again once the rain is gone then so is the accuracy of half her moveset.
EDIT3: Matches are going pretty good Steel Wing doesn't prove as useful as hoped, may get Agility back and switch out the Assault Vest for Life Orb

One thing I've noticed in a lot of matchups is that so many people like to carry Greninja. Good thing my Sylveon can pretty much take anything Greninja likes to throw out >.>
God I love Sylveon but after watching PIMPNITE I want to try my hand at Vaporeon...

I adore my Sylveon too, but I hate how her speed is
abysmally low. Though dat Special Defense is nothing to scoff at.

Need some advice on handling Mega Lucario's. Got mutilated by one yesterday. I'm working on a Medicham as a possible counter to it but not sure if I'll be able to outspeed it (That Close Combat hits like a truck)
Also Baton Pass Scolopede with a Sword Dance and 3 Speed Boosts switching into a Mega Manwile also completely wiped me. I may have to see if I can replicate that strategy. It caught me off guard.
Upside, I put my team to the test with a 6x6 battle. Ended up winning with 2 pokes left. It was a very close battle and only reason I won is due to entry hazards and residual damage from Sandstorm/Leech Seed.
Also my Mega Blastoise actually helped me in that battle taking out a Mega Gengar and I think another poke, I forgot which one but it surprised me, considering Cucu chastising me on it earlier :P
Currently my team is:
Ferrothorn (God this thing is so useful, it's tipped many battles in my favor)
Skarmony (Does a good job doing some entry hazards as a sacrifice)
Tyranitar (Love the Assault Vest)
Garchomp (I leave him open to mega in case it suits him more than Mega Blastoise)
Blastoise (I leave him open to mega in case it suits him more than Mega Garchomp)
Sylveon (Switched to a Special Attacker as Ferrothorn did a better job taking hits, Sylveon can still take a few special hits)
Currently working on:
Medicham (Unsure if I want to do Mega Medicham or Life Orb Medicham)
Possible things to work on:
Baton Pass Scolipede
Wish Vaporeon
Mega Manwile
Waiting on Pokemon Bank for:
Poison Heal Gliscor staller
Mega Gengar
Salamance (I should scrap that in favor of a new one with Moxie)
UTurn Choice Scizor (Or mega Scizor)
Volt Switch Rotom (Go go Team VoltTurn)
PorygonZ (For shits and giggles)
Thick Fat Mamoswine with Focus Sash

Mega Mawile is a beast. It's been my hope that Poke Bank might give Mawile access to a physical water move to cover both of its weaknesses, but I just don't see anything it can learn. I've had my Mawile ready since Thursday (took less than half a day to get 6 perfect IVs on it), and yet it's been a four-day effort to get a Venipede with speed boost and perfect IVs in just HP, Defense, Special Defense and Speed. It's driving me crazy. The only silver lining in that cloud is that my Hatching O-Power is almost level 3.
Edit: Also, on that note. What with Huge Power and Baton Pass Scolipede doing what they do, what was initially a toss-up between Adamant and Jolly Nature has now become a four-way battle between Adamant, Jolly, Careful and Impish. Do I make its high physical damage higher, or let Huge Power work its magic? Should I make its speed higher so that it's not as reliant on Scolipede? Should I improve the bulk its mega form provides in defense, or should I cover what it's lacking in Special Defense?
Also, I'm not sure how much the nation competitive scene leans on Smogon, but I hear Mega Gengar just got quick-banned.

Huh when did Mega Gengar get banned and with what combo did it get banned with. Mega Gengar isn't much of a treat to be honest as my Blastoise made short work of it.
Speaking of Egg Hatching, I learned a trick from Pimpnite where if you go to the center of Lumoise City and push your circle pad in one direction and slide a coin or piece of cardboard under it you can make your character continually go around that racking up walking points for leveling up pokemon in daycare (make sure you have plenty of heart scales) and for egg hatching so you don't have to keep pressing it.

"Mega Gengar is the perfect example of this. It is not broken solely because of its offensive stats. It is broken because the combination of Shadow Tag, its great defensive typing, its great offensive stats, and its huge movepool allows you to, with almost absolute certainty, remove one or multiple checks to your team with Mega Gengar." -smogon its just a quick sum up too why it was banned.

truefire wrote on 2013-12-10 15:13
According to
this post the ban happened a little over a week ago. What it got banned for wasn't so much its sweep potential but its ability to pick off multiple checks/counters on enemy teams, allowing other Pokemon to sweep much more easily.
I considered using the coin trick, but decided against it. I use route 7 so I can collect more eggs while I bike and fly hatchlings to Kiloude as soon as they hatch. Automated though the coin trick may be, I feel like I'm missing out on egg opportunities that way.
Edit: Well damn. First paragraph ninja'd.

Odd, I faced a Mega Gengar in a wi-fi battle two days ago. Do Wi-fi battles not adhere to these rules?
Now is Mega Gengar banned just by smogon standards or is it banned by Nitendo as well. If it's smogon I don't give a rats ass as I don't follow their stupid conventions.

Smogon is not affiliated with Nintendo, so anything they decide has no impact on the game.
