  You see the meteor form and drop, but there's no fire aftereffect and probably no flash.
  
  Now, if only the meteor itself looked like the moon from Majora's Mask.

  It already takes about 3 days to hit.

  This. I've used the mini effects to train my meteor at white/black dragon raid. I don't really see the "white flash" or anything.
  
  People always seem to find the way to complain no matter what.

  I myself like to use it in middle of Dunbarton now that I got rank 1 Meteor yesterday.

  People like to have added effects because a lot of them help the game be immersive, and also have a strategic point to them as well.
  
  
  It's annoying enough having to turn people into robes during for "optimization" in WD/BD raids because of FPS spikes
  but having a skill with a random flash + flame sprites created from the 1990's makes it just sad for the game.

  Aside from the Int and Title, not really. The damage isn't anything to write home about, really, especially for a 30 minute cooldown.
  The only time it'll really shine is when everyone uses it to open a difficult boss, since it doesn't cause aggro apparently.

  Spellwalk and Snap Cast are still contenders, especially if you already nuke the hell out of everything in the mission/dungeon.

  My one and only question is this: Does it hit blade wyverns? If yes, its uses are quite apparent to me.

  I don't believe it does.
  
  And as for people that ask if Meteor is worth the AP... in my opinion, I would say yes, as you can use it in some really difficult situation, and you can shoot the meteor from behind a wall too.

  I need to keep effects on for dragons for the fireball timing. Usually I don't need to use pally to dodge but there are always brave heroes that try to solo and screw everything up.

  I expected this to be about how discourteous people are in Shyllien.
  There's 7 channels, and Ruairi is dead to the point there's usually only 1 or 2 people gathering across all of them, but people just come and Meteor wherever they want. I had to reclear my area 3 times in 10 minutes because people would just warp/cc right after it landed.
  
  Damage-wise, I would say it's worth it. The cast time/delay is comparable to Fireball and people have loved that since Phoenix Wands came out (until stat inflation once again put Magic at the bottom with Alchemy) but the result is like 8x better.

  30 minutes might be a little long for the CD, but I think it's worthwhile. It's 20k+ AoE damage, though primarily useful at bosses.
