Now that I've gotten your attention, I would like to make an appeal.
Seriously, the level of stupidity in these forums is slowly growing to over 9000. And no, I'm not even making a joke here. The amount of stupidity on the forums isn't even because of the main community. There are just a few black sheep here and there, and they are making a huge difference, especially when they try to perk everything up with a god damn icon. IMO, if they are just attention seekers, go somewhere else and look for your damn attention, like in a chat room or something.
As much as I'm not really serious about the IQ test thing, I'm suggesting that there should be a rule or a guidelines to stop people from being extremely retarded. We are being shown extreme cases of retardism here, and this is a new level of retard, one that is isn't a problem with the mind but the problem of being extremely lazy.
1. The offending users are usually the same few folks, multiple cases of the same offence even after many ample advice given and much requests for them to stop. Most of them either ignore the advice given by other users or the requests as stated, which brings me to the assumption that they just doesn't give a damn about what you have to say. All they want is to make their retarded posts and then feel happy about it.
Mabination isn't your god damn social media page. You can be a retard on your Facebook, on your Tweets or whatever fuck social page you use. Mabination is a FORUM, and FORUMS are used for the discussion of IDEAS or the sharing of RELEVANT, UP-TO-DATE information. If you are here to discuss about pet names, weird ass glitches (That, of course, you didn't bother to search up to see if it's posted before) or even in-game weather, PLEASE MAKE A SOCIAL MEDIA PAGE FOR IT. No one wants to read these sorts of dumb ass shit, and recently it has just gotten worse.
2. As stated in point 1, users are usually not mentally incapable, but rather, fucking lazy. Let's just say, some shit happened in-game that I couldn't explain, I have 3 or more options I would turn to:
- Post it up on the forums and ask around if it happened before
- Search it up on the forums/ Wikipedia and find the solution
- Not do a single shit about it
Now, as you can see, the first option is the best option. However, if you've went directly to option 1 without doing option 2 first, you are wasting people's time because the problem is probably already solved over the internet. All it takes is to search your problem with the search bar at the top.
i.e. I was searching for solutions to reduce latency in Mabinogi. It took me less than 30 seconds to find out about denagle-ing and MTU edits. I could spend 5 minutes to type up a thread to make discussion about it, thus wasting MY time and OTHER PEOPLE'S TIME because I have to wait for their replies.
3. Now, this is pretty much the largest problem here. None of the topics these users have made is either contributive to the society, interesting nor even mildly amusing. In fact, when a huge pile of topics by the same user that is of equal, I'm sorry to say this, shitty quality, it is actually pretty rage inducing. I didn't come on Mabination to waddle in stupidity, I came here to learn about the game I'm playing.
Maybe you guys feel that it's fine for this shit to go on, but seriously. Is it that hard to search before you post? Like, you know, be sure that the topic you are posting is at least of the slightest, interesting or informative? I know there are people out there trying their best to be nice, but hey, from my point of view, this is nothing but abusing people's kindness.
Stop this kind of shit. You are not being nice to yourself and neither are you being nice to us.
Thank you.
Please note, this thread is not directed at particular users, but more of a thread to appeal the implementation of a mean to prevent users from abusing their rights to make threads. If you don't get what I mean, head over to Mabinogi Discussion and take a look at the INFINITE AMOUNTS OF STUPIDITY. I'm getting pretty heated under the collar about this, really.

I support this notion, I've been a regular on a few forums in the past, and they were all informative. If I wanted to go to 9gag, reddit, or 4chan, I'd google it up, click the link and put on a blindfold, because there's nothing but crap that's being posted.
It'd be nice to see some users have a bit of common sense, or even the ambition/motivation to contribute, even if it's just a little bit.

Going to the General Discussion section is like going into a buffet. We used to have high quality dishes to eat and everyone enjoyed discussing about it. But then certain mods decided that it's alright to put unprocessed feces on the table so it's expected that the buffet will start smelling to high heaven. When faced with complaints, these mods would respond with "Please understand, all he can cook is feces.", "Don't be rude to him just because he can't make non-feces dishes.", "I'm sure it's his right to put fecal matters on table like everyone else(Nobody)."
With that, we now have a smelly ass buffet table where nobody can even enjoy their food without fear of incoming rain of shit at any moment. Soon, all the good chefs will be tired then move on to other places with higher standard while all that will be left is shit and experienced shit eaters.

Don't be scared to post. It's not a crime to state what you seriously feel about this current situation that we are in, as of now.
I think it's better to let people know so that they understand your needs.

My current take on the situation is that the forum activity is dropping quite a bit. Soon, there will be barely any activity at all.
Maybe it correlate to the declining amount of Mabinogi players as well. Mabinogi just can't compete with some of the more popular RPGs.

Activity is related to quantity, not quality.

Activity is going down the toilet because of the lack of quality when it comes to informative posting. Why do you think people join a forum like nation in the first place?
If the average player hears about future updates, and want to learn more about what's comming up, they'll go to nation. That's because the KR Test crew gives great info on future updates, and the new users can contribute by sharing their ideas, or opinions themselves. But when they see crap posts, posts made of drama, stupidity, and obliviousness it drives them away. The new and old users are also driven away when their opinions about these crap posts are shared, and then are disregarded because the un-productive users are creating a norm in which they can post anything and everything that's unrelated or harmful to the productivity of the current topic(s).

This is true. I'm here for tips and tricks in Mabinogi, which is pretty much 99% of the time I'm actually lurking and 1% of the time I would actually NEED to ask questions (Or post in the Touhou cosplay thread).

Well the problem there is that KR hasn't had any quality update since the Hero's were released which is a huge downer as it's making me and the rest of the crew sit here twiddling our thumbs hoping that KR throws some bone at us to play with.
That being said, the constant posts about pet names is annoying and I have received complaints about it but I haven't reported it because it's technically not breaking any rules. So unless the rules change there is nothing I or any of us can do about it.
Once KR releases an update I'm sure activity here will pick back up again.

Tried making one thread for it during Blk Friday so we wouldn't have like 3+ threads of pet names going around sadly got it deleted :c

Which is exactly why we need this appeal to be APPROVED.
Once this is up and running, no more stupid threads because it's actually against the rules to make stupid threads. There will be a guideline to make threads and what you should do before you make threads, so it isn't that much of a change for normal users like me and you. But for idiots and dumbasses, they'll have to watch what they post before they click the damn "Post Thread" button.
Hell yeah!

There's a number of users who won't like this idea, especially the Bean Rua crowd. I don't really want to get on anyone's bad side so I'm going to stay neutral for the time being until I see what lodge of complaints come up.
