Speaking of members who piss people off on purpose.
What ever happened to my long report that never got responded to.

In my feedbacks, I have never done this, basically to avoid childish background play and mockery, for example:
User A reports user B for spamming.
I agree that it is spam, I remove it and infract user B.
I proceed to send report feedback and tell user A that user B has been infracted.
User A reads the feedback and sees news about the infraction.
User A proceeds to send a mocking PM to user B along the lines of:
"Ha-ha! You got in-frac-ted!"
Believe it or not, it happens, human nature is a strong drive.
Which is why I feel that whatever I have done to the person who offended the rules, is none of the reporter's business.
If that HAS to be added though, I'll see to it in the future, but I'll wait for it until the rules are finally revised.
Then a rule needs to be created that has severe consequences for users mocking others that have received infractions and/or bans. Something like a 1-day ban on the first offense, and possibly doubling on each repeat offense.
Otherwise the report function just degrades into a tattletale scenario.
Why the heck should it only be the combat kind of content?! I didn't join Mabinogi just do combat all day long.
On the subject of one-word responses:
If the idea is to make it so that more contributing posts are seen as opposed to posts that don't contribute anything, then I don't really see the point of said one-word responses. If you don't have anything else to contribute to what the person said, you should at least have a reason why you do or don't agree with them. At the very least, you could say: "I agree/disagree with x because of y reason". Otherwise it's just a post that exists but doesn't actually do anything besides take up space on someone's screen.
Kinda missed my point.... Not to mention this was all personal preference... Original point was to separate what I mentioned and the other mabinogi related threads in two different boards. Creates a more concentrated mabinogi talk section for mabinogi game play, while allowing the other board to have things that were getting pretty close to off-topic or only has slight relevance. In the end though, not enough people would want this so it wouldn't go anywhere. Worth a shot to at least put it out there though.
You have to look at the content of the thread, and the content of the post to really determine its worth as a one-word post. I could honestly post a paragraph with less content than a one-word post if I wanted to. It should be up to the mod's discretion as long as they actually look at the post and how it fits into the thread, because sometimes one-word posts actually have more content than a paragraph does....
Anyways, off to work...
So...
Elitist mentality?
Mmk.
I don't think it's exactly to try and make the place more like it's for elitists only. From this thread, some of us would like to see rules be enforced little more strictly.
Well, in any case, said person(s) may be irritating and may post in odd manners, shapes, or forms, but by no means are they bad.
Of course, if they cannot at least be able to hold a serious conversation and somehow opens up unusually off-tangent and absent-minded answers, then they should really restrain from going into the General section, as it seems such things are unwelcome there.
There is a fair amount of contradiction in the arguments, anyways, as the majority of the sticky posts (and the unstickied ones) in the General section are pretty much a combination of casualness and mabi-themed, which more or less is what the "What'd you name your pet?" conveys.
