  While that was under discussion we kinda forgot about it, but I'll remind the others about it, although the person in question hasn't really done anything for quite some time now.

  Then a rule needs to be created that has severe consequences for users mocking others that have received infractions and/or bans. Something like a 1-day ban on the first offense, and possibly doubling on each repeat offense.
  
  Otherwise the report function just degrades into a tattletale scenario.

  There was another reason I had in mind but there isn't really much to be done about that one.
  
  It's the same reason as to why certain people dance on a table when a certain user gets in trouble because they did something bad.
  Of course we also take care of things like that when people express that "joy" vocally, but we can't let it go to their heads either, if you know what I mean.

If you don't have anything else to contribute to what the person said, you should at least have a reason why you do or don't agree with them. At the very least, you could say: "I agree/disagree with x because of y reason". Otherwise it's just a post that exists but doesn't actually do anything besides take up space on someone's screen.
  
  As for the issue of users making fun of others for getting infracted/banned, that can count as being rude/insulting, which is still against the rules. If you see it, report it. PMs can be reported too.

  Kinda missed my point.... Not to mention this was all personal preference... Original point was to separate what I mentioned and the other mabinogi related threads in two different boards. Creates a more concentrated mabinogi talk section for mabinogi game play, while allowing the other board to have things that were getting pretty close to off-topic or only has slight relevance. In the end though, not enough people would want this so it wouldn't go anywhere. Worth a shot to at least put it out there though.

  You have to look at the content of the thread, and the content of the post to really determine its worth as a one-word post. I could honestly post a paragraph with less content than a one-word post if I wanted to. It should be up to the mod's discretion as long as they actually look at the post and how it fits into the thread, because sometimes one-word posts actually have more content than a paragraph does....

  It's pretty rare that I see something that's one-worded that actually contributes anything, though.
  
  EDIT: Not saying it's impossible or anything, and some things can warrant one-worded responses, but it's rare that I don't think "that was unnecessary" when running into these.

  I don't think it's exactly to try and make the place more like it's for elitists only. From this thread, some of us would like to see rules be revamped a bit, and rules to be enforced little more strictly.

  True enough, but from what I've read (into 8 pages), the concept may be correct in a sense so as to cleanse the General section of these unnecessary threads, but to implement an "IQ Test" seems amusingly degrading, as well as the repeated defense at how it will produce a better place for all to post.
  
  Then there's the part about the posting activity - from what I can gauge from constant lurking, there is a wavering population of 100~ or so visitors browsing threads. However, obviously, they are lurking because they are lurking - if they see such titles as "What'd you name your pet?", then only out of sheer boredom or curiosity would they choose to view the thread. Of course, by lurking, no actual informative post is formed, nor a discussion will take place, but the lurker will obtain the information he/she had been seeking. If they ventured out because they have questions, then they would do so (or not, essentially, due to an unfamiliar community that does not know them, or just plain darn lazy [like me]).
  
  I would say it is a positive effort to regulate the section more strictly; however, obviously, as one of the posters in this thread have said, "i could make new acc and make shet and gigles just because i can" mentality could arise.
  More or less, rules should be adhered to, but from what I can see, there isn't too much inconsequential discussing in having such threads.
  Some may be irritated by that, I can see, but others may not; I would assume that such a policy would aggravate others and probably further reduce anyone trying to seek information from these forums.

  The people who you've just generalized ARE THE PEOPLE WHO ARE POSTING IN GENERAL SECTIONS. They spend most of their time in the /B/ean Rua section, then moving up across to the Mabinogi Discussion section and POSTING THE SAME SHIT. Are you fucking serious about defending these sorts of people? It's like trying to tell people to donate to Africa, when the money is just getting squandered BY THE GOD DAMN GOVERNMENT. Defending these people is pointless. They are not thankful to you, they do not even care. All they want is to increase their post counts, run about and SPAM.

  These forums are dead as fuck. I don't think I've been to a forum that was more dead in a while. Look at this post. 2 months and it's still on the front page. It's not even that far down, there's probably another month or two until it drops off. Can you imagine what it will be like if you get rid of the fluff?
