  To be honest, I'm okay with off-topic nonsense to some extent. My problem is the no-topic trash, including inside jokes or other one-liners that are directed at a small sect of people and not the entire community. Again, that's why there's user groups.
  Bean Rua +spillover is more of no-topic than off-topic.

  The "Bean Rua" forum is the official off-topic section of the website. Here you may post threads that don't belong anywhere else, and make replies/threads that would normally be considered to pointless to be permitted anywhere else. All the forum rules still apply in this section.

  
  Obviously if something is in the ABSOLUTE wrong section, it's moved and the creator is notified, buuuuut... is it against the rules?
  
  I mean, the title of Mabinogi Talk is "Discuss general mabinogi related subjects here." What does that say to you, personally? Because what it says to me is "things that have to do with Mabinogi"... and that's about it. Maybe the wording needs to be fixed, or maybe rules need to be set in place, but is it really in the wrong section if it's about Mabinogi?
  
  Buuut, then again... when I was on staff, I had to deal with a particular situation more than once, where a guild leader would post a thread every month or so in the Mabinogi Town Square. Sounds all fine and dandy, but the posts were spammy, and it almost looked like a chat room -- they weren't even recruiting. So, it was moved to Bean Rua, and if I remember correctly they actually got in trouble because they continued to post it in the Town Square. So yes, people can, and have, gotten in trouble for it.
  
  What I'm trying to say, I guess, is that it's so case-by-case that I don't even know.

  Sure, when it goes too far, but sometimes it doesn't go more then a couple posts and its made to have fun. Not everything has to be extremely serious in every thread, but of course theres a limit to deviation from the OP. [S]I feel this was directed at me at least a little bit. [/S]

  I feel then, that the wording and rules for each forum should be tweaked a bit. Sometimes people just get reaaaaaaallly close to being off-topic and it has juusssssssst enough relevance to pass as "on-topic".... I think the line on what is off-topic and on-topic should be clearer and should be probably drawn a bit closer to the main point of the section.

  The problem is when multiple different people do this simultaneously in the same thread, thus ending up as half a page or maybe more.

  Well, yes at that point it shouldn't go that far honestly. But that is again left up to the mods personal opinion on what is considered "too far". However the poster should also know when to stop.

  I think the rule against one-word replies should be removed. Sometimes you don't need to write out a whole sentence to convey the meaning you want to get out. Just because its a one word reply does not mean its worthless spam. I'm not directing this at you specifically but just in general.
  
  Example: Kaeporo posted a max roll encore ambush crash shot frag 5 bohemian, I said gg. Looking back at that thread another user said .................. and another one just said Nice. Yet mine was the only one removed (yes, I do realize there is a certain user reporting my posts), whats the big deal with saying GG to someone who has accomplished something? The whole point of the thread is for people to notice your accomplishments, and I was congratulating a fellow player.

I can express my distaste and confusion in the topic in one word, and thats my opinion about the topic, just a simple "Wat." Do I need to write more than is needed just so I'm not infracted? I could've said something like "this topic makes me go Wat because it leaves me dumbfounded" but saying "Wat." conveys the exact same message just as well.
  
  I realize you are all just trying to do your jobs the best as you possibly can, and I do think the infraction system on Mabination is a wonderful thing. Which is why this isn't a complaint towards moderators just doing their jobs and more about some of the rules nation currently has. Just some constructive criticism, take it as you will.

  Basically this... While one word replies may look like spam on the surface, they can have a bigger hidden meaning behind them that is conveyed by just reading that one word. If it has extreme relevance to the topic at hand, and you can understand that it requires no further words to express the meaning then why should it be deleted and infracted? However on that note, there are some one word posts that should be deleted if they are people just trying to obtain more nation gold/posts and has no real reason to be there. Basically, the mod should keep in mind the hidden meanings that are conveyed by that single word and deleted the post or not based on personal discretion on if they feel it fits.

  I do think one or two word post rule should be enforced unless it's in Bean Rua because you basically are not giving any efforts in typing a whole sentence out which isn't difficult, and your post count increases for each post you make outside the Bean Rua.

  Sometimes its actually better or more "witty" to post one word posts and adds to the atmosphere a more laid back sense. Sometimes people enjoy a one word post thats more impersonal then a paragraph or a sentence that is overdrawn that creates an almost "business like" or an "insincere" atmosphere.... This is why the one word posts should be left up to the discretion of the mod that is reported to whether or not it should be deleted based on content, relevance, and how well it fits into the response it is tied to. Not every one word post should be allowed, but mods shouldn't just look at it and immediately determine it "spam" because its only one word.

  I agree with this point. In fact, the points stated in the quote suggests that most users that does 1 word replies (My god, and I thought one-liners are bad...) just steps up with my point that users are lazy, but they are posting for the sake of making replies.
  
  If you are so interested in making one word replies, I suggest that all stats removed and the forum to be degraded to the point that it's just a simple thread (Literally.)
  
  I mean, what's the point of having an avatar, reputation bar, post counts, gold, pets and all that other fancy stuffs if all you want is to support the above point? Might as well throw in a thumbs up beside the post itself so you can show your support visually or something. There is no need for you to even post if you are only mentally capable of a single word reply to describe how you feel because we can probably guess it already.

  Alot of users already know each other at this point and how they post and talk. If you purposely try to draw out a response to avoid the one word limit you can come off as fake because its not how u normally speak. I literally expect one word posts from a good chunk of the people who would respond to me. However for someone like (throwing ur name out there) kaeporo if he only did a one word post it would be a bit different (basically I could easily see him doing a sentence or a paragraph lol). My main point is, I don't think response lengths should be forced when were trying to talk to each other casually 90% of the time and sometimes we only need one word to do so. This again goes back to the mods discretion....

  Well to be blunt, I honestly couldn't care less about how long it took someone to finish their gear and saying "GG" is exactly the same as saying "thats really awesome". I do realize substance adds to the conversation but a one word reply can have as much substance to it as a fully written out sentence. I'm not saying my "wat" conveys some whole paragraph of meaning, but it gets my point out there, which is the whole point.
  
  But I actually do see your point, it would be annoying if a bunch of users were always just saying this and wat and gg, but thats the thing, it doesn't happen at such a frequent rate that it's a big problem. Most of Mabination's users contribute greatly to threads, I'd definitely say we don't have that many posters who are constantly adding nothing to threads with silly one word responses. I believe the rules implemented about one word responses were implemented with people like that in mind, but to punish a contributing user for giving a one word response once in awhile doesn't really sit well with me.
