  3. By any chance if your thread died, don't commit the same mistakes again
  
  If you are asking a question:
  1. Make sure you ask a question that's completely new ([I]Not something someone has already asked and answered)
  2. Make sure it's relevant enough that even through much research, you are incapable of solving the problem by yourself
  3. It's a problem so huge, you actually have the need to ask someone because it is THAT IMPORTANT (i.e. Mabinogi isn't starting up at all, much crashes, can't play, too lag, wow)

  In short, your thread should at least attract some sort of sensible attention that gets people back, checking for more information. This includes event guides, future contents, game breaking bugs, future planning, build discussions or even different points of view within the world of the game itself.
  
  Proper topics would be topics that have to do with the story line or in-game content, for example:
  
  - The future of Erinn without Gods
  - What comes next after the current affairs of Mabinogi? What's the next story line in place?
  - What sort of religion would Mabinogi be shaped after?
  
  Non-proper topics, topics that does not interest people at all are pretty much:
  
  - Wow, I got <blah blah> from this new Gacha!
  - What did you name your new pet?
  - <Blah blah blah> is not fixed because I just crashed and it's a 0.000001% chance that only happens to me
  - Mabinogi is fun, let's all talk about how I am right and you are wrong
  
  Now, by removing people with LOWER IQ, we can LOWER the amounts of unpopular topic in conjunction with MORE members being alerted that there are actions taken on people who posts stupid.
  
  The worst part is how these people ain't actually retarded. They are actually:
  
  - Fucking lazy
  - Being retarded ONLY on Mabination while being able to function perfectly in real life
  - Seeking for attention, but they don't know how to do it properly
  - Post whoring, because apparently posting can gain you gold
  - Also, post whoring while being lazy, which explains why they have FUCKING 2,000++ POSTS without being interesting in any sense. WOW, do you guys even read what you type?!

  Banning Splat does NOTHING. Setting a rule on NOT BEING STUPID helps. I like to believe that Splat isn't retarded, he's just acting like one because there isn't a rule to enforce him to not being an idiot. By enforcing this rule and at least forcing our members to take their time to read what they've typed, we can prevent these sorts of stupidity from happening. In fact, I call these sorts of shit "Public Shaming". People who does the above offending points ain't gonna lower any of our IQ, they are not going to harm us in any way and they can't do shit to us. The only person that they are going to disgrace is themselves for letting us view them in such a pathetic display in mental capability.
  
  So, yes. If someone's willing to ban Splat, why not set a rule to stop people from making stupid posts? Check twice before you post a new thread and make sure it's in the proper section before you do so. If not, you can choose to appeal to a moderator upon why you think the thread belongs in that section, or face the colors that you've painted.

  I've read a lot of complaints, in both this thread and in others, of "shitposters". I don't think most of you even realize what that means. Especially many of those who were, in an isolated thread, complaining about shitposting that very thread. I might not have been posting much lately, but I have been reading every page of these threads, and the closest thing I can identify as "shitposting" are the posts that were talking about shitposting. This brings me to an interesting point.
  
  I've spoken with a large number of you in private, and I've found something incredibly problematic. Everyone believes each other to be that shitposter. In a thread like this, people seem to be very happy to come and voice their unnamed opinions about unwanted individuals, but it is incredibly ironic that everyone is talking about each other. Though the primary focus from a large number of members were implying towards Splatulated, my concern runs deeper than that.
  
  Everyone here has a different idea and standard of what is acceptable in a forum. The only thing I've found to be a common ground for those who are here is that there is a problem and it needs to be fixed.
  
  For the time being, I'm going to gather a few of the most vocal members of these complaints and have a private chat with each of them to get a better grasp of what they're looking for. I'll be PMing some of you tomorrow through Sunday.

  For reference, treatment of splat in bean rua was publicly discussed as a community and determined by everyone. No moderator just decided to give him permission to rampage as he pleases. These rules were established to apply to all members, and not just splat.
  
  The rules were as following: No more than a maximum of 5 threads over a 24 hour period in the same board, as spam control. If a violation is brought to our attention, we were to send a warning to pause until the next day. If this warning was not complied, the user is infracted for major level spam.
  
  Splat was already banned under these rules, but following the infraction count, it was a short period.
  
  Since people are going to ask, I'll also mention that the current ban on splat is a result of him posting inappropriate material, which totaled towards 10 points of infraction. He will be banned for 3 days.

  No, I'm not actually asking for an IQ test into the damn sign-up page itself. I'm just asking for a rule that makes people check what they post and stop posting retarded, repeat topics, topics that has been asked and answered over and over again, topics that no one wants to read but people still makes them anyway, posts that no one cares, no one bothers, posting without reading through the thread, things like that.
  
  And no, I'm not complaining much about Splat, it's just that he, or she, did the most offenses in comparison with many other members (Yes, Splat wasn't the only one being extremely lazy).
  
  What I ask for is extremely simple, extremely basic in most, if not all, forums.
  
  - Read, at the bare minimal, the OP before you post. OP being Opening Post in this context
  - If you have the time to actually type a topic, why not SEARCH up the topic before voicing it up? Perhaps someone already made a post long before you and it's already answered, discussed and beaten about like a dead dog?
  - If possible, read at least 80% of a single thread, or skimp through the thread if it is too much to go through (i.e. anything with more than 15 pages)
  
  I don't think it's really difficult to do any of the above points, it's just if you are lazy or you are not. Remember, being stupid and being lazy on the forums is almost the same thing, and sometimes it's hard to tell from the latter.

  With this, hopefully, people will start thinking twice before hitting the "Post Thread" button. Sure, people might think that this is a little extreme, but hey. For the common user that follows the forum rules, being nice and all to everyone around, I doubt it would be much change to them. The only users affected by this are the lazy ones that refuses to do what normal folks would do.

  I've yet to notice a significant degradation of the quality of posted content within the Mabinogi Talk section. The majority of problematic users within Mabination have traditionally been those vocal few with an outstanding history of moderation.
  
  The sort of changes which ＣＩＲＮＯ proposed would be met with immediate conflict due to a fear of reprisal. If said changes survived more than a few days you would encounter the development of two trends: The backlash resulting from a combination of moderation opacity and the difficulty of this subject's ambiguity as well as the presence of sovereign members who would definitely abuse loopholes in developed standards for the advancement of some personal agenda.
  
  I'm not opposed to new rules concerning behavioral issues but said rules must both specifically protect members from reprisal and must specifically state what sort of behavior is not allowed. Additionally, if upholding these rules becomes overbearing for site leadership, you cannot expect said rules or policies to address the issues voiced in the first post.

  I can understand people derailing the threads a bit to have some fun, but people were posting all over the forums with only one or two words (sometime with a picture) in their post that doesn't even contribute to the topic, not just only in Bean Rua, but all over in Mabinogi, Multimedia, Server discussions, and many more.
  
  I've reported them when I see them, the mods would actually take the actions and delete the spams at first. There was a point that same users would make spam posts more than five times and still haven't gotten an infraction for it. Now when I reported them.... I felt like the moderators are not really doing anything and just continue to let people post spam, and go off topic.

  I have been sick for the past two weeks and barely touched any reports because I wanted a little break.

  Although I will admit, I do delete spam and occasionally verbally warn people that I removed their posts, and ask them to avoid making such posts in the future.
  But I guess it's hard to keep people in line with just verbal warnings.
  
  I am probably a little bit too soft when it comes to handle reports and I let people off the hook quite easily.
  However, I fear that if I actually did "Yellow Card (Warning) -> Red Card (Infraction) -> Ban", you'd see the community thin out slowly.
