This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. The problem with all rule lists I see in any place, be it online or offline, is that it's not designed to be read. Not as bad as a EULA, but close enough.

If threads by a certain person annoy you, you just mentally block them, you wouldn't even need an ignore function, just a small amount of willpower and COMMON SENSE, you are not forced to click on the links, if even the titles bother you, then your problem does not lie with that user, but within you.

Hey man, don't get me wrong. I really like Splat too, I guess I was just kinda ticked off at his spam when I made this thread. He hasn't been spamming much at all really lately so that's cool too. If mods want they can close this thread, I guess the issues been solved.

Except that in order to view the majority of Splat's posts, you have to click on the threads he makes first. He isn't going out of his way to shove his threads or posts in anyone's face - if his shit bugs you, it's because you're too lazy to ignore a simple thread and/or post.

You guys really need to stop trying to make shitty excuses to hide the fact that the only problem here is laziness on your part. The constant whining is getting old.

Wait wait. If anything I would argue splat does everyone who wants to avoid his threads a great service by directly placing a "this is my thread" icon next to it. If the cat icon is the reason why ignoring him is hard, then should we get rid of the icon? Sounds even harder to deal with.

I would agree to remove it, but knowing him, he would just find a replacement anyway.

Okay, perhaps you guys don't understand what is going on.

It goes on like this:
1. Skimping through section
2. Obnoxious cat icon catches my eyes, I read the thread title, notice that it's made by Splat
3. Moves on

Now, that would be what life would be like for me, HOWEVER:
1 and 2 happens, 3 happens afterwards, and then 1 and 2 HAPPENS AGAIN. Now, imagine, easily in a single section there can be like 2 - 3 cat icons at the top of the thread. This makes ignoring his thread almost physically impossible as because my goal is to check through the section if anything new is happening. If you would say "Well, just ignore the threads with the icon, then..." I find it hard to do so if I'm literally just skimping through. Besides, it sticks out like a sore thumb, and other members do use it too, not just Splat.

IMO, if you remove it, I would be pretty glad. However, like as stated above, Splat would just create an alternative to attract attention. Well, it is annoying, I am complaining, but I don't think anything can be done to prevent Splat from trying to be an attention whore, just saying.
