So I've had my first taste of Skittles when I was 22, they were quite good, surprised I've never seen them in my country before and now I'm seeing them everywhere.
I'm 23 now, and I've had my first actual cupcake. It sorta reminds me of a muffin but has a much softer texture, and it was delicious, I'd say.
It saddens me that I'm so late to find out about all the delicious things in life, what other kinds of delicacies might I be missing out on? Do any of you have any recommendations or personal experiences about this?

Beef Wellington numbah 1 m8.
Also, this
simple pork belly recipe is absolutely lovely.
As for sweet pastry:
Puddingbrezel

Also I suggest moving this to the food subforum.

I had the idea of doing this but I'm not really expecting (either myself or this thread) to remain serious for very long, to be honest. I kinda want to have people keep the freedom of what they want to say, so yeah.
We'll see how that goes, though.
I think we just call that puddingbrezel an "achtkoek" (Eight Cookie) here though, and I'm not very fond of that kind of that kind of pudding though.

Maybe Belgian pudding is worse. :D That thing is top-notch, as far as sweets go.
I never tried this myself yet, but it looks promising:

Franzbrötchen, a Hamburg original. Puff pastry filled with sugar and cinnamon.
It's kinda hard to come up with stuff you as a close neighbour don't know yet. :S

Tried sushi yet? I know a surprising amount of people in their 20's and even 30's who have never tried it. Missing out big time.

I'm scared of the idea of raw fish, although I guess it wouldn't kill me, I'd want to eat it in a decent Sushi place rather than make it myself, though...

Sushi doesn't have to have raw fish. In fact it doesn't even have to have fish, it can contain other seafood or none at all - it can even be vegetarian.
The real issue is getting real wasabi. You need fresh one because the aromas allegedly dissolve in less than an hour (paste usually sold as Wasabi paste is not real Wasabi, it's just an approximation using horseradish and some other substances) so you either need to buy the rhizom for a lot of money or buy a plant for cheap and have it take its time to grow. You can go unauthentic however and just use remoulade. Tastes fine too.
Making it yourself is very simple. You may have problems cutting the assembled sushi roll if you don't have an excellent knife though.

I thought sushi was all about the fish though, and I've never actually had wasabi before either.

About as much as pizza is all about the mozzarella. If you're a purist you may not want to go without, but it works well anyway.
Variation and development are an integral part of the art of food preparation anyway. It's perfectly right and proper to work with what you have and prefer, as long as it works out.

I hope you've tried varenyky (pierogies) and kutia before. I love poppyseed or potato+cheese varenyky with garlic sausage, or a sweet fried ham. I'm not much one for the varenyky + sour cream/ fruit tradition.
Kutia is a poppyseed and wheat seed soup or pudding, depending on how you serve it. Lots of people add raisins, but I don't like raisins. We make it like a soup.

There's all kinds of sushi, so you can start with seafood rather than fish. Seafood ones are usually cooked.
Then when you're ready for the ultimate, go for sashimi rather than sushi. It's the raw fish sliced into the form they use in the sushi, but without the whole roll part. Don't waste stomach space on rice and filler stuff.
My favorite are salmon and tuna.

Arroz con leche, I would always be excited when my mom made this for me. Nice and sweet with a hint of cinnamon. Great for cold days, hot chocolate? Bah get some Arroz con leche.
Good thing about it is it can be eaten cold and it will be like pudding or heat it up and drink it as a beverage. A classic Mexican dish. You can also try some horchata a very tasty beverage.
Too bad I'm on my phone or I would post some pictures.

Oooh yes, they are good. We had them at work a few times, thanks to two Russian-German coworkers.

Konpeito, pocky, ramune. They're not technically delicacies , but so very few stores I've been to actually sell japanese sweets, save for FYE and a couple supermarkets. Sidenote, the konpeito I actually ordered from Amazon, but it's the first time I've ever tried it in my life. I guess I can also add flan to the list, since I only learned how to make it a couple years ago through a youtube video.
