  Seems the term "weeaboo" gets thrown around a lot and the meaning makes no sense anymore.
  I originally learned that it was a non-Japanese who was so obsessed with Japanese culture(usually anime and j-pop), and tried too hard to act Japanese or falsely claim to be Japanese. And that the person often had little to no actual experience with real Japanese people/culture, so they'd pretty much butcher the language and spread stereotypes of the culture. But even then, I don't know if that could even be a mutation to the original definition too...
  
  Either way, I also do not understand how this could possibly be a "weeaboo" update since it's in Japan, clearly made for real Japanese people playing a "fantasy life" game which doesn't really make much use of logic or historical accuracy to begin with. Even the live action dramas and movies made in Japan about ninjas and samurai are filled with inaccuracies or ignore things that were common(cough Homosexuality and Female Samurai cough).

  I was not referring to the two characters so much as 'Ninjas' as a class/talent/whatever; it's the same as saying inaccurate fighters, mages, etc. You're saying that the class should be accurate to what ninjas actually are, but keep in mind, this game is labeled and marketed as an anime MMO, so should it bother you when ninja skills seem Naruto-esque?

  It can be weeaboo-esque if it's catering to weeaboos. They'll design stuff like this because they know if it gets localized in the west it'll be popular.

  It's entirely possible for this to not be localized. They're designing it based on what Japan would most likely want.
  The design is what is because this what anime ninjas tend to be, and with a game like Mabinogi, what the hell do you expect?

  Just as nightmare said, this game is and marketed as a anime mmo, why would it matter if the skills are like that. Especially since they originate from the JP server, you know the country where ninjas came from?
  Even if we had accurate ninja, they would end up being the spies and assassins that they were historically. Unless you want to try and find someway for that to work in game, it wouldn't be simple, and hell wouldn't really work for direct combat.

  for example the Iga would wear Navy blue clothing while clans such as Koga would wear black, gray or earthly colors, it also depended on the environment and situation. Also ninja did use loud weapons... as soon as guns were released in Japan and they got a hold of them they used them, ninja who used guns were called "grass people" I don't remember what the Japanese name for it was but it translates to "grass people" they would hide in tall grass and when their target got close enough they would pop up and shoot them... they also used it to cut down the numbers of samurai armies in full scale war. Also there's no evidence Shinobi wore Shizoku... Shizoku were what the stage men moving props in the background of Bunraku plays would wear to keep from distracting the audience from the performance. People simply speculated that they would wear shizoku.
  
  the Mask was more than just to conceal a ninja's identity. it was to protect them from strong smells, blinding flashes of light and loud noises. but certain situations they wouldn't need a mask... like being disguised as a civilian.
  Shinobi actually could fight really well as they infiltrated and assimilated many forms of Kung Fu, Kenjutsu, and Jujutsu into their methods and made to be more "ninja friendly" calling them Ninpo jutsu. ninpo taijutsu, ninpo kenjutsu, and ninpo Jujutsu. They would also be sent into do battle in the front lines of a full scale war disguised as Samurai, this is an example of the importance of combat specialty... another one is that they also had to know the traditional budo ken/ Kenjutsu not just ninpo Kenjutsu in case they were pretending to be a samurai in the opposing army in case someone challenged them to a sparring match they had to have an acceptable level of skill or they'd be discovered... also they had to wear the particular underwear of that faction... Samurai had this anti ninja underwear system going on for a while until the ninja caught onto that, and figured out certain underwear was used as an identification method.
  
  xD Goomba was wrong about the definition of ninja/shinobi... it's not nothing/nothingness... Ninja/Shinobi literally translates to "living in the seclusion" or Shinobi no mono "one who is living in the seclusion."
  
  Ninja clans could be known to other people... for example they used Shuriken to identify that they are a ninja and what clan they come from, particularly to other ninja, if they had a run in with another clan.
  
  Goomba also never mentioned that there is no historical evidence for female ninja... Kunoichi actually comes from a Ninjutsu called Kunoichi no Jutsu where a male ninja would disguise themselves as a woman to get close to a target with sexual favors.
  
  Ninja could use Ninjutsu for more than just escaping... the word Ninjutsu does translate literally to the art of escape but they could use it to escape in the moment and confuse an enemy and entrap them and assassinate a target if the opportunity arose, and the method was effective enough.
  
  I've been really into historical ninja for a long time and I've been studying Bujinkan and Togakure Ryu ninjutsu for a while, I'll be honest... a lot of dojo with Bujinkan will say Bujinkan ninjutsu but they'll only teach ninpo jutsu and no ninjutsu. so it's important to look for schools teaching the art of escape.
  
  I don't mind anime ninja either... if we use the logic of historical ninja we have to remember they were good at everything they infiltrated by assimilating it into their arts so if they lived in a world where there is magical arts of casting spells and defying gravity, you can be sure it would be assimilated into their arts and made to conform to their ways. thus we would get whatever ninja is going to be like in mabi, or whatever anime they exist in. we have to remember that historically ninja arts kept changing based on what was available to them. from using farming tools, to using katana and bows, to guns and land mines.
  
  I love ninja from both worlds... but more so the real world as it's something actual people can achieve and I do my best everyday to train in what is left of the arts. I simply explain to people who only know of fantasy ninjas what real shinobi were like and why they're so mysterious in real life, and then let them continue to enjoy the fantasy ninja. :)

  I have to agree with this. They made this for the young fashion-loving Japanese players. Most young people in modern Japan really like their characters to be beautiful and stylish even if it means sacrificing historical accuracies and practicality, so they don't exactly want the ninjas to wear plain dark ninja clothing and masks that cover their beautiful face and hair, especially when the art style is of the colorful/cute anime variety. They're gonna spice it up by making it colorful and edgy to please those people. They're not doing this(or any fashion-related things they've made) to cater specifically to western players, but to Japanese players who grew up watching unrealistic and colorful ninja anime like Nintama, and later Naruto.

  On to JP updates.
  
  They updated the graphics of the Talent Selection window during character creation/rebirth. They got rid of the New Beginnings button and added a turn page left/right button, perhaps for Humans who now have more than 18 talents which would fit up the entire screen. They added a few things I'm not sure what do yet. They also did a lot of minor graphic changes to the talent selection which would be unnoticeable ingame but would make it slightly faster. Although not ingame yet, they added the selection icon for the Ninja Talent:

  They also added four new ninja animation tags, all of them NPCs' animations. But still none of these or previously received animations are actually viewable yet. They randomly updated the hero talent icons:

  The goal of the event is to fill the book up to 100% in exchange for an Ubi. To fill the book you must kill monsters (how you kill them doesn't matter) to fill a percentage of the book, where 100% will be complete.
  
  Weakest Monsters give 0%
  Weak Monsters give 2%
  Normal Monsters give 4%
  Strong Monsters give 6%
  Awful Monsters give 8%
  Boss Monsters give 15%
  
  You may only do this once per day and if you have 10 completions, you may redeem some weapon after the Ninja skillset comes out.

  I looked into this. I still cannot confirm which stat Ninja uses, but what she is basing this on is correct. Selecting Ninja talent increases Str and Will upon level up. (This does not mean it uses both Str and Will. It could be purely Will damage or purely Str damage.)
