What server are you on? I miss when the game had more people(outside of Dunfarton), too, though.
I still see people running around on Ruairi, at least. Yesterday outside of Dunfarton, I met someone who was playing a horse, and rode on him while naked, until a bear aggroed and knocked me off, killing him in the process...
It is true, though, that in every server, a lot of people online seem to just be doing nothing at all in Dunfarton, either chatting or AFK.
I see people participating in the event too, though.

I agree with what's been said; the rebirth system and the fact that one character can master all the skill sets allows for crazy vertical and horizontal progression to occur; this means that people who have been playing for years are hitting the point where they are just waiting for new content to be released. And good people don't give out help for free either; people who are high leveled tend to help friends and rarely strangers. Coming back into the game can be very hard.
I wonder how nexon might deal with their problem of vertical progression, or if they will leave it and just keep bumping harder and harder stuff out and newer, more powerful skillsets and items. The gap between the strongest and the weakest is literally years of work. It's quite scary if you think hard about it.
That is true too. I noticed usually high level people in most MMOs will be quick to help strangers, but I also noticed that, sadly I often see high levels in Mabinogi that are elitist, only talk to or helps friends(or popular/rich/strong players), and act creeped out whenever a clearly new or low level player approaches them.
Well, not everyone is like that, but I noticed it seems common among the Dunfarton crowd.
I end up meeting more friendly and approachable players in Tir, even though I rarely go to Tir to begin with(and it's usually fairly empty)...
