Being alone sucks on an MMO

  Well I think part of the reason people at so depressed about old friends disappearing is because they probably just had a different mentality then. Everybody had a goal to strive for, like clearing Ciar for instance. We were all weak and shared similiar goals do it was really easy to make friends, and by that I mean GOOD friends. Now that everyone can plow through everything with sheer damage there isn't that common goal and its a bit harder to make lasting friends.
  
  Like others have said, if they dont log on for a while. It's better to just move on and just find new friends.
  
  That's just my take on it though.

  But, I guess I am not always active, I keep going on long hiatuses. >.<
  
  I can understand the feeling, though. All of my friends from outside of Mabi that I bring in, end up losing interest after a week or so, and talking to them about it and showing new events only helps one or two friends regain interest, while the others ignore me.

  Guys, you have to make new friends if you want friends. Friends come and go, in real life just as much as they do in video games. You have to be actively seeking new relationships if you want them, they aren't just going to fall into your lap. It's that simple.

  
  
  Or add them on skype and keep in contact. I had good friends on Maplestory that i added on Xbox live, then proceeded to play other games. 8 years later, our interests majorly diverged, and we said fuck it and we all scheduled a meet up in Cali. Now those are lifelong friends.
  
  Friends come and go because of lack of effort, if you put in effort, you get it returned.

  The way things fell together were so random, just like a lot of things.
  I am very fortunate to have gone through the shit I did as a kid to be rewarded with such love.

  This is why you get their information outside of the game, so that if they go play a different game that interests you, you can join them. I think it's silly for anybody to only dedicate themselves to one game.

  I don't mind playing alone, and in general I prefer it. I don't like being slowed down by others which I guess makes me a jerk or whatever, but hey! I've got a few people I can talk to regardless of what I'm doing and that's all that matters to me.
  
  It's not about how many friends you have, it's about how good the friends you do have actually are. Good friends are people you can talk to outside of whichever game you might be playing, and about more than just game-related things. I'm kinda going off on a tangent here, but I don't like people (and you know who you are) who just 'collect' people on their FL and only talk to them when that person has something they need. People aren't tools!

  The best way to make friends on any MMO, is to just simply put yourself out there. You need to start conversations if you want to have them. I too have lost a lot of great friends on this game just simply because we've lost contact, but I've tried to keep a lot of people around just by talking to them often. This game is meant to be played socially, and sometimes you just have to crawl out of your shell in order to meet people, and just keep people around.
