So now I'm told that beginners get 500 AP if this is accurate:
http://mabinogi.nexon.net/Community/forums#%2Fshowthread.php%3F1255545-new-accounts-get-WHAT%26nxid%3D10
So with 500 AP upon logging in, 74 AP from G1, 120 AP for G3+G?+G15, 80 AP from G17, 300 AP from G18, another 300 AP from the second part of G18, we total 1300 AP from generations and character inception. Probably a bit more from things I missed.
Next is levels, the first 1000 levels couldn't last more than a month, and a user could make between 1000 AP and 6000 AP (bit less for starting levels). To make around 6000 AP you would need to get level 1000/1000 all in 3x AP, but it's much more realistic to say users would make around 2000 AP with AP events and leveling. Level exploration to higher levels should be easier when treasure hunter hits.
Finally we have talent AP, something close to 4000 at this point. So if a player hits 1000 in 20 days and finishes all their generations in that time they could have made between 2300 and 7300 AP. They're very likely to get another 500~2000 AP thrown in. After all of this, every player now has the option of free weekly rebirthing, daily shadow missions, and daily saga options.
If you told me this would happen a few years back, I'd think you were crazy. It's clear that the veterans get their fair share of AP as well, so don't start to think I'm starved. AP isn't quite the asset it used to be. So now onto the discussion, how do you guys feel about the new system?

Did you actually confirm this yourself? I made new characters a bit back (that received the new beginner stuff) I did some of g1 and never got 500ap.
Until I see it I'm going to say the OP (not you but the nexon thread's) is bullshitting somewhere.

Its new "accounts". First time players receive a free 500 AP Potion when they make their accounts I'm told.

I did not, that's why I posted the source. There's a good possibility it isn't true, but even so there is a fair abundance of AP.

..and this is what I'm told as well.

When I say new character I meant to imply that it was a completely new account.

I personally feel all the bonuses and now this 500 AP new players get makes all the work those of us who played form the beginning did seem like a waste.
Things that would take us weeks of grinding to achieve several years ago can now be done in half a day by someone who creates an account right now.
As a person who values their time I find the whole thing pretty insulting.

Same.
Nexon/DevCat: Race EVERYONE to end-game, where absolutely NOTHING is waiting for them.

Then they didn't receive the box. This is in the Character support box when they make a new character on a new account.

All those 2x Training potions as well as the 500 AP Potion comes from it.
Edit: And its not limited to just the first character either. New character, Same account as the previous pictured.

They still have to train the skills.
you guys are acting as if ap was a huge set back in the game mechanics. there shouldn't be any complaints especially since we got free rb, so no matter how hard they try to catch up veterans can still be a step ahead of them.
if they want to reach end game it only depends on if they are hard workers or just lazying around.
and if they take the time to do all the skills that we did, then I say good for them, they put in the work.
you shouldn't feel anyways towards these new players, after all you decided to invest your time in the game, your weren't held at gun point. If your soul purpouse to this game was to only train and be the strongest then I am sorry you miss out on other aspects of the game.

I completely and utterly disapprove of this, and didn't realize beginners received this level of help.
Now, while I think it's fine to help people, this is a bit too much. Mabinogi originally started to where you began with almost nothing, you were a pioneer adventurer who had to make your own way in the world you were roughly introduced to.
Now, where you are handed skills without having to do the quests, immense amounts of AP, and a world where leveling is quite an easy task, the sense of being a pioneer adventurer is lost, and instead of being left to explore and climb your way up, you're being led on a tour.
I know that there is still some climbing to do in mabinogi, you have to train skills, and continue to level up and become stronger, get good gear, but I feel like the idea of starting with nothing in a huge world to explore with few restrictions, where you had to earn everything was part of the appeal of the game.

The potion may be to compensate for less AP during quick leveling up because of daily resets. Usually you would do a lot more of Saga episodes and SM dailies while getting to 1k total.
As for rest of stuff, it's possible that someone may be trying to help new players to catch up to veterans as fast as possible, but... they seem to overdo it a bit. New players won't have time to learn to properly use their skills if they rank them too fast. All the newbie benefits till 1k total are already more than enough to get a relatively decent character, and that comes from someone who only recently passed 1k.

and lets also remember how much free ap we have gotten, all those double rainbows, events, and prizes.

I think it's fine. So they get spoofed by nexon? Not like the games get easier for the beginner, there are still the trouble of ranking your skill, and ranking whichever skill in order so you won't get too much cp. there's also still the learning of curve of how to play, getting all that ap doesn't mean some of them know how to use it efficiently. And all of the one complaining about how it's unfair, if you participated in any rainbow/3x exp/ap or hot time event where nexon hands you free item. You have no right to complain. "But I worked to level during rainbow/event. And log on during the time." Still taking the easier way and letting nexon make the game easier for you, which some of you were complaining how hard the game should be. Those hard time were back then and this is now, things change. Nexon doesn't expect everyone to be a hardcore player w/ pro reforges gear and every skill master, all they care about is how many people are playing and how much nx they are spending on the game. So if making the game easier will get more people to play then so be it. I also like to think if more people get hook on the game, mabinogi won't be shut down for alwhile xD
I prolly make no sense.
