And Equivalent pointed out the problem exactly.
These things are not worth 30 mil considering the function, it's for fashion purposes. Therefore, the real benefit of Yui is status/fashion symbol, nothing else. If figuring out an orb should cost 30 mil, then I guess elemental weapons should cost 70 mil+.
And you really want to do the survey? I can tell you that the significant population of Mabinogi has most of their items at least enchanted, and doesn't even have to be at end-game level. You really think we've all not been there?
Being nice to beginners is good and all, but at this stage of the game, you're just being way too sympathetic. You can't make excuses for what these beginners lack or what you might lack. A little research and more effort could improve people's gears by a lot. Let's take your gears for example. You can easily buy a sight item for around 100k easily, and slap it on your armor. No need to go through hassle for R9. And for these R9 enchants, I can think of easy rA enchants already, like Color, Hamster, etc. Your gloves? The expansive pricing just got to the bottom of the market, like 150k for an item. And you can easily hunt fleet for shoes. Or if you don't like hassle like that, you can get easy enchants like strider, fox, camo, etc. Acquiring this sort of information can literally be done in 10 minutes search by typing in "Damage modifiers" in the wiki search bar.
See, here's the thing.
I'm not saying that Yui is the best thing ever, or that it's a great investment.
I'm saying that it's not useless. The thread is asking for the benefits, and it has benefits and (despite what some people are saying) is not useless.
Outclassed in investment != useless.

It allows the use of the Yui Strike action.
- Garbage that's easily outclassed by pets or even newbie player skills.
Reveals dungeon pathways and rooms on the minimap.
- Nobody runs dungeons; while this could save some time, demi-god provides the same effect. The use of demi-god isn't applicable to beginners, who shouldn't be spending 30m gold or spamming gacha for a CP Yui. Go ahead and do your stat tracking so you can support your argument that newbies don't have a million gold to spend on equipment but do have 30m gold to spend on a Yui.
Reveals the correct switch in dungeon switch rooms via a sparkling effect on the orb.
- Nobody runs dungeons
Reveals the location of monsters and switches over a vast area in Shadow Missions on the minimap.
-Time saved by this is paltry compared to the speed gained throwing character development. Use is limited to either grouping or avoiding mobs. The former is outclassed by several other options, to include Saga EP4.
Can randomly cast a Magic Shield over the user.
-Totally useless due to it being completely random.
I'm waiting for someone to argue that 222 broad swords are meta.
Really? Well how are people ranking up Composing, Rest, First Aid, Meditation, and other such skills that need items that drop from dungeon end chests? How are people getting Thunder on existing characters when page 4 only drops from dungeon bosses? How are people running their generation quests without doing dungeons when so many of them need you to run dungeons, even later ones like G14 and G18?
It's okay to have opinions, but
saying that nobody runs dungeons anymore is a straight-up lie. This is just one example of why I think I need to start a player survey, because so many people here on Mabination seem to be deluded like this.
"I don't do it so nobody does it"? The Dungeon Capture SAO event didn't get dungeons to Zones 5 and 6 from people NOT running them. :P

Neither. He's saying that almost no one dungeons regularly to make Yui somewhat useful.
I don't run dungeons that much anymore, but that's because I don't need any dungeon drops for skill training myself (
yes, I finally got the hellhound skull like a month ago).
However for most of my Mabi career I would run dungeons every so often, sometimes running them repeatedly with people if a dungeon dropped something that multiple people in my group needed. Like spamming Karu 7x10^40 times because
it drops three skill books and multiple people needed a copy of each.
If I had a Yui a year ago, it'd have made running many dungeons over and over for book/item drops faster and less of a hassle. Though if Yui wasn't an anime crossover item it'd probably be more affordable too.
