I love when non-mages try to use skills that scale directly with how powerful your magic is then call them useless.
You don't need to be a lancer to know that windmill is a better alternative to counterattack.
Given the viewing distance in certain areas in Mabinogi, that's a matter of "Now I see you, and now I don't."
I personally found Shuriken charge to be a "useless" skill, it can't be charged before you've "selected" a target, and with most set-ups, selecting a target is the same as attacking it unless you click from out of range and then cancel your movement, then manually walk in range for Shuriken Charge and hope you haven't left Combat Mode by then.
The damage for the skill is okay, it's just the way that it is used that makes it feel like a waste of time.
Not everyone is lancer, just like not everyone has connection good enough to activate windmill before enemy gets from it's effective range to the point it can attack.
Shylock's Step is the most useful one. Everything else is pretty much meh. Not to mention you can buy yourself a few seconds of invulnerability during the animation.
Except now Shylock's overshadowed by Shadow Cloak.
Crisis is a player skill, so I suppose you're referring to the use of Defense in PvP, which is an already broken system.
I'm actually referring to both player and monsters. If monsters could Defend against Act 6: Crisis it could cause a lot less complaints.
From an objective point of view, this skill is crucial to gunslingers. If you're not a gunslinger, of course it's useless to you. Though the HP boost is nice.
I am a gunslinger, hence my master gunslinger skills. However, I only use it for Frenzy, because of the stupid Shooting Rush glitch and Puppet/Ninja are more effective.

Outside of the realm of damage, shuriken charge can hit through mob invincibility frames.
I kinda figure that skills are useless if you can't/don't use them. Pretty sure we should be discussing the practicality of skills, not whether we use them or not (e.g. "I don't use archer thus it's useless to me").
