Is op talking about the repair cost of the gun? I'm sure that's just a bug.
the "op" was giving a general opinion about the wiki. This is a newly created thread broken off from a previous one that had some drama

My tl;dr to this situation is : if you find something wrong on the wiki/inaccurate/unfilled information then fix it yourself instead of ranting about it.
In case many of you don't know, editing/adding info on wiki can take a while especially if the page uses a template instead of being text on the page. It took me like an hour to add the Dual Gun skill stats onto the Stats and Skills pages after possible error checking and after that I dont even want to add Ninja skills because of how long it took for Dual Guns.
Also if someone is being an ass and reverting edits or overwriting pictures that have no problem then notify the mods.

Reading the rest of the thread it doesn't seem surprising at all. Again, the wiki is a community effort.
The wiki was admittedly very troubled for a while. Such that many old contributors were dissuaded and left (me included for a very long time) and others who tried joining in were also dissuaded from continuing to help. Even now there are some... problematic elements but the management is trying to encourage that people try to work through their problems rather than just spit the dummy and leave in a huff.
If you have an actual problem then do try to work through it. Aside from the wiki talk pages there are also the Mabinogi world forums and also the Mabinogi world IRC (which is admittedly silent at times considering the number of users but generally people will reply if they see your message) where you can try to talk things out. If your changes are reverted and you have beef with that, speak up :| If you have something to share, the wiki wants your contribution.

I think it'd be a better idea to have our own sources like that, but then again, easier said than done.
This community has "attempted" its own wiki before. Back when it was Mabiguru I believe. I'm sure most would rather not remember it.

I do contribute to the wiki. I put those heart wings up on the list. ;__;
I contribute whenever I can. Or whenever I want to, rather.

What irritates me is when people don't put everything in alphabetical order for reward lists. Like gachapon crap.
Have to fix those way too often, but oh well!

Their other editors have tough criticism, sure, my autism/ADHD/Asperger's Syndrome made it difficult for me to cope with it. But in the end they're often right, and I'm still trying to learn to accept that (no, they didn't use Force Persuasion).
However, what really concerns me most is when people overlook details or take way too long to mention them. Since ninja update, there's a lot of critical details that are missing, such as the inability to use some/most on rafting/hot-air ballooning, respectively, how passive defenses affect them (on Passive Defense page), Defense page mentioning which ninja attack can be blocked, and so forth. It also takes them a day or more to put in that an event occurred; they've still yet to mention that the Dual Gun Giveaway event has occurred and passed.
I'm actually barred from editing because people kept saying I made too many "shit edits", but at least the admin was nice enough to not drop a ban hammer.

Yeah, someone went on a banning spree and made sure that I would never be unbanned...
So when is Nexon going to put in the Smart Content, because that'll finish off the dying Wiki.

Well we should have received it by now, but I guess translating the entire thing would mean a lot of work.

This is pretty ironic to hear from the person who told me that the wiki is NOT a place to hold info about the game and that having info about foreign content is NOT useful even though it gives the wiki a head-start on articles when/if the content hits NA (in addition to the reasons that other users posted earlier in the thread).
http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Thread:Talk:Patches/Unreleased_Content/reply_%2857%29
(For context, that post is a reply to this set of questions somebody proposed to the wiki community about their thoughts on the patch page and what to do with unreleased content.)
Forgive me if it seems I'm being a little too snarky here (am just making sure I point your attention to what I see as an issue), I just feel the need to point this out to you specifically since you seem to wonder what's up. People go on the wiki and they see users like you stating the things you say and pushing
against holding info about the game and content, and then you wonder why people are more hesitant to put info on it? :P

Pretty much all wikis have this kind of drama. People just don't notice very much because 99% of people are only reading.
The problem is wikis develop a group of self-appointed kings of the universe who can do whatever they want and typically get away with it since they cozy up to the owner/host/staff of the wiki. I've seen better and I've seen worse, and it's one reason why I will never host a wiki or edit one ever again.

Things should be put in perspective: The mabi wiki in question was well-known to be inaccurate among those with deep knowledge of the game since at least G2 or G3, based on what I know. Nevertheless, it has been useful for general topics, particularly for newer players. Just take some things with a grain of salt and verify on your own. This issue isn't new and the wiki most certainly isn't dying--I'm sure it's getting a ton of traffic.

Exactly. I admin two wikis: Grand Chase Wikia and Monster Girl Quest Wikia. However I've encountered excessive vandalism or harassment instead (one harassment brought up a ridiculous amount of drama; the guy persisted ban dodging and said retarded shit like "since I didn't do anything wrong my ban dodge is void"). "Use power to maintain order" is the philosophy of the 'lord' on MGQ wikia.
There's no editing drama because those two wikias follow very simple guidelines and we weren't too strict about it. However, Mabinogi Wiki is far more complex.

Another problem with wiki: majority of the editors seem to be concerned about fashion, not much other in game things.
I mean, fashion is fine. But it's a problem when other things get neglected.
Fighter enchants and many of the then-upcoming-enchants were problems. No one bothered to upload them except me.
There are also many wiki editors that I've seen in game that I feel are not suited to provide information, but that's just me.
