no problem with people who think our sexuality is shaped by our social environment+innate needs
huge problem with people that say "you will go gay if you find the right person"

If one really believes in that (not saying that you believe in that or not):
Following the same logic, can't the reverse be true? A gay person will become straight against if he/she finds the right person.
Of course, both statements are equally ridiculous.

people also say "you'll go straight if you find the right person" and it's stupid
also, you didn't really address your post from earlier where you completely failed english

Your sexuality is your sexuality, not everyone is going to completely bend and take a 180 under certain circumstances. Using that same silly logic I am equally capable of choking someone to death as I am of taking a dick in the ass, or wanting a 5 year old, or wanting to fuck a cow, all things are equally absurd to a straight male who's not completely fucked in the head.
I also believe that people will sometimes bend a little bit, but some things just don't fly. Going from being a straight male to wanting dick just because the so called "right person" arrived at the "right time" doesn't mean I nor most straight human beings comfortable with their own sexuality are gonna take a complete 180 and turn gay. Naturally since you're bi you don't know what it's like to be completely unattactred to a certain gender (which isn't a problem or anything, but js) so to come to the assumption every single human being will turn gay given the right circumstances is ignorant as hell.
btw taycat that sentence was a joke it was poking fun at eos' sentence because it made next to no fucking sense unless you read it like 50 times.

And yeah, you can't just expect someone to randomly change sexuality, otherwise we'd probably have idiots who think that homosexuality is a disease and try to cure it. [S]ohwaitwestilldo[/S]

Well, so much for that.
Personally, I'm content being heterosexual, but good on those who're happy with what they are.

So you'd be cool if people could marry infants or adolescents? Perhaps animals? Morality isn't always so black and white.
That's a slippery slope, [S]but I'm not sure if you're trolling[/S] just thought I'd like to point that out. Sure, society's morality can be grey at times, but I doubt it'd be as extreme as letting people marry young people (although in the past that's happened, but come on, it's the 21st century, not the 15th) or even animals.

I'm not trolling, and I don't really think she wants that. I was just trying to point out the nativity of the statement quoted, or establishing my views against such things.

I never really understood the point of coming out or pride parades or what the hell ever. It's no one's business who you stick your penis in or rub your vagina on except you and the person it's going in/on. There's no reason to run around in public screaming "IM GAY! YAY ME! GAYNESS6LYFE!" No one in real life will know I'm gay until they come over and see me living with a dude, because it's none of their business.

ITT: Eos kicking forum-ass.
It all comes down to many things in life not being black and white--this is particularly relevant when discussing areas related to psychology. What Eos refers to is innate bisexuality:
Seems pretty reasonable to me.
Wait, Wasn't Freud's work completely discredited over the years. and all of his psychological mumbojumbo completely false?
The only thing i see him in textbooks for is historical info, not something to actually teach to people.
And on that note, I've had guys hit on me, saying that "you can be bisexual" and it has never ever took.

pretty much this
hoping this flawed type of thinking will stay in the minority of people, otherwise more monosexuals are going to be demonized for not being attracted to the other sex.

If you're not attracted to penises/vaginas it doesn't matter who the fuck you meet

I fully support homosexuals and wish they didn't feel like their sexuality had to be a secret which they had to "come out" from.
With that said the whole politically correct string of sexuality terms needs to fucking stop.
You either like dicks, vaginas, or you don't care (covers what people tend to call bisexual/asexual/pansexuals in case that needed explaining).
Unless some scientist out there creates something new, there's only 3 options. Any more than that and you're just trying to make yourself sound special.
You're not a "gender-queer pansexual moon vampire trapped in the body of a man". That's just a crappy made up example but I have seen paragraph long explanations of people's sexual identity. If you need a complete sentence to describe what genitals you're interested in then I've already stopped reading, nor will I make any effort to learn all these words just so I can be politically correct when trying to talk to you.

you're thinking of those who are "otherkin" as they put it
i think they're just people who would rather think they are plants or cats or something than be humans

asexuals feel the need to "come out" because they won't stopped being bothered with "when are you getting a girlfriend/boyfriend?" "you need to get laid" "when are you going to give me grandchildren"
they also have to specify because if they prefer not to have sex but still want romantic relationships people should know that up front
the difference between bisexuals and pansexuals are that bi(two)sexuals like either male or female and are not interested in trangendered relationship
pansexuals reject the gender binary and are open to any kind of person depending on whether or not they like their personality
most of the weird sexualities and genders i come across though are so much bullshit
btw the term "pan" is nothing new
