I think the main complaint on Nation is elitists that don't understand they're elitist and give crappy advice to newbies. "S6 or go home", "If you can't cap Int you suck, go cap your int", "Nobody uses Smash because everybody has R1 Final Hit", etc.
This. So. Very. Much.
I can understand that some people, maybe even quite a lot of them think that 500 max is little and 2 million is cheap. Also, I know it's possible to get that far in a few weeks. But there's no reason to rush things like that, as it really kills the fun of
just playing the game.

Mabi become a social chat like IMVU with some combat/life minigames. Pets, weapons, armors became a fashion contest instade of combat orientated.
Everyone liked x2 training, specially for skills like wm or blacksmithing. This afected directly the main game design: spend time ranking a skill and getting ap. Now we have fast training and fast ap gaining, in order to keep us playing new skills increased in training time (smoke screen). Also mabinogi dosent have end game gear, we are not limited to X lvl to wear X item.

well with the renovation changes what do you expect lol
all mabi is about now is just buff previous skillsets and make new skillsets. this game has been dead to me in terms of combat ever since they released fighter/puppet/gunner and then ninja/renovation just made game balance even worse

I would absolutely love this. The most we have that is sort of related would be demonic weapons. Kind of lame if you ask me.
Reach a certain amount of stats to wear a weapon? Now that's the kind of thing I'd love to see.

Well demonic weapons are somewhat close.
But I doubt we'll see more 'cause that limits the gacha-to-get-strong-stuff-quick ability.

Dem gatcha millionaires. 2 mil is really hard to make without the item shop.

That was kinda the point of most enchants tho. Reach rank X of Y skill to unlock this bonus.

There's not a whole lot going on. A lot of the best rewards are handed out by gachapon/events and you can power through at least 90% of this game's content by the time you hit like 2~4k.
Content updates are extremely petty and rarely amount to anything more than a some new skills or some disjointed mainstream quests with no replay value.
Mabinogi still has dreadful PVP systems and PVE mini-games. If only this game had Runescape's content, or Runescape had Mabinogi's combat system...
There's that Runescape comparison. Been doing that a lot lately myself. Heck, I play Runescape more than I play Mabinogi these days and that's just sad. At the very least if Mabinogi had Runescape's quest system I would be a lot happier with Mabinogi. As it stands, Mabinogi has shit storyline and it's incredibly slow to progress. Meanwhile over in Runescape we have another World Event going on trying to take down another god that threatens the world.
Where is more of this new god and Alban Knight content?

I think the problem with mabi is that it is a free2play game and that naturally comes with problems between balancing the cash shop and the free aspects of the game. Some games like Loadout choose to focus on cosmetics while others like Warframe have either a grindwall or give aways.

.
I think this is an exaggeration, but even if it weren't, is there something that is fundamentally wrong with this? There are plenty of super combat focused games out there, Mabi has always been a social mmo. And it's not for lack of trying that there isn't enough endgame stuff, DevCat's just incompetent.

Because people, especially veterans, don't like the direction of the game. It be like if Witcher 3 was a racing game.:shoe:

Some people don't like the direction of the game. Others are fine with it. Believe it or not, the veteran player perspective is not the only relevant opinion to be considered.
I'm not saying that there doesn't need to be changes made, but this hysterical tone of "THE GAME IS DYING THERES NOTHING TO DO" is only remotely applicable to a fairly tiny segment of the playerbase.

Sure, games change, but change it too much and you've alienated a fair amount of players who came to play for what it was then and left for what it was now. I feel as if it is possible for Mabi to offer both, but the Devs only care about maximizing profit. It is like scarlet blade at times, where the content is boring but hey look tits.
This is a contest between the free2play aspects of the game and the pay2win. When people enjoy the pay2win content versus what is actually free, you've got a problem in my opinion.
As for my earlier analogy, you just don't screw over a new playerbase for a new one. That's both risky and a giant middle finger.

koishi-sempai wrote on 2015-06-09 22:12
Except the casual playerbase was always there, despite being largely locked out of the game due to the ultimate paywall aka paid RBs. Also it's important to note that DevCat is adding combat content - just not fast or decisively enough (or more precisely, they're not going back and updating the content that was designed for 1000-3000 players that got obsoleted or going back and making the content that does sort of scale more rewarding).
