Alright how about this, Giant MAINS ONLY, who is looking forward to the renewal?
You're right about the legs, that change was in the right direction. The problem is that instead of looking always grown up as they do now giants get stuck in their teens. Nothing is more awkward than an oversized teenager.
They should have at the very least made them thicker by default.

New proportions seem correct, though more meat in the legs and stomach area can help.
Feet can be bigger too.
Basically everyone isn't really used to seeing giants becoming so thin.
So far no complaints over here from where I'm playing at, even from the people who main giants. They seem to be fine with it.
For some reason, if they don't give you all the renewal, Nier comes to mind.

I greatly prefer the new Giants.
1. Hopefully this will reduce the number of fat "tent" Giants lurking around Dunbarton.
2. The new Giants are actually proportional. The "so-called" muscle on current Giants is both unrealistic and largely resembles body fat. The new Giants aren't just buff, they're built.
3. The Giant update also includes new combat animations, which look pretty awesome
4. You can't do anything about it except complain.

1. It definitely will...by replacing them with lightpole giants.
2. They're too thin to be proportional and their heads are slightly too small. Also, proportions can shift slightly between races no? If you actually buff them up they look horribly top heavy to boot.
3. Not new combat animations, males get the existing female animations. There's maybe one or two actual new ones that are replacing some of the old ones I actually like.
4. I've made a point out of conveying that it's not all bad. Since the general tone towards the renewal is positive in this thread it's made more sense for me to focus on my dissent though.

The girls look good... the guys need to be more buff.

Guys could probably use more meat at least around the legs, and arms. However its still an improvement. The giants now are stuck being short adults, turning into huge adults... It's weird being a 15 year old giant with a beard :O
Anyways maybe this will improve their evasion XD

I'll admit that I disliked it at first but it looks like they've improved greatly on the male giants since I last saw. Yay for them actually being taller than females. They look pretty good now to me. I'm looking forward to it even if only because I want the new standing poses and face paint.

I thought Giant Models comes later? The new models actually seems pretty nice, at least in the uniforms the example pictures presented.
(If you don't like the new models, you can always save the old files, and modded back to the old models.)

I think part of the reason people really disliked them was because of the unpacked giant mod that came out right after the models did. I used it myself and they just looked terrible; the females had face shading issues, skinning issues, joint issues, the males being MUCH smaller than the females, etc. I hated it. Now that the test server has updated and we can see the final product, they actually look really cool imo. They've earned my approval.
