  I think everyone has something against some type of country. Its all their personal opinion. A lot of people hate America. My mother hates Russia because they drove my grandparents out of their home country during the war (Ukraine) . My boyfriends grandparents hate Canada because their family was kicked out.

  Off the top of my head... most of the people are idiots (at least in my area). The government is corrupt (then again most probably are). The education system sucks. I hate how I've relearned American history over and over again for what, like 5 years, yet I know hardly anything of foreign history. Furthermore I hate American history because it's just about oppressing other races. First we killed almost the entire Native American population. Then we imported Africans and used them as slaves. After slavery was abolished we've been discriminating against different minorities depending on the times, like the Japanese during WW2 and the middle easterns and hispanics currently. The government's loose rules on the food industry make it so I'm eating a bunch of genetically modified stuff with no way of knowing what's truly 100% organic.
  
  I've never lived outside of this one city though so it's not like I've experience the entire country, or any other countries.

  Mmmm, I don't think it's okay to hate on America, mostly because America hasn't really done anything that other countries in the past haven't, with the sole exception being the actual use of atomic weapons on an enemy country. Even then that was only because America was the first to develop the technology, and it's my personal opinion that the nukes were preferable to the alternative...but that's off topic. The Japanese enslaved and discriminated against the Chinese and the Koreans, the European countries had their fun with Africa, African tribes to this day continue to fight along ethnic lines (not that the Europeans helped things any), etc etc.

  Im sorry, but I really dont think you can judge a whole country based on the people on your area being stupid, and how your educational experience was. And I also feel like pointing out, you said you dont like how in American history all these things happened to oppress other races, well there were always people on the other side, so its not like EVERYONE was supporting it...I mean I do agree with some things you say, but really dont judge the entire country cause of the stupidity of some....(I would type more, but im really tired and going to bed soon.)

  I actually agree with what Time is saying. Judging a country just because of the people around you is a rather petty. I mean i know there are people that i have known in my life that i think are stupid or make the wrong decision...but i know im not going to judge my country (or any other country) based on a small group of people.

  Everything bad America has done is not new. The world would not be the way it is today without slavery, genocide, and corruption. Although the American system of government is inefficient, I feel that all the haters really don't know the inside-outs of how it works and why it is so inefficient. There's a lot more than meets the eye (transformers, robots in disguise).

  America is one of the leaders in terms of education and literacy rates (it's not #1, but it's not bad). As far as American history, the same is true no matter where you are. Other country's schools teach American history a LOT. Because it's important. They don't teach the history of irrelevant minor countries for a reason. That's what college is for, if that's what interests you.

  1. I'll agree with you on the Native American point; although, I think you have to look at it from their perspective. The settles were desperate for a new place to live. Do you think they'd spend all that time, effort, etc. to get to the Americas and say "Whoops, someone's already here, everybody go back!". While pushing them out of their land, and how savagely it was done is definitely wrong, I think there's a lot more to it.
  
  2. Slavery has been around since the beginning of time. Enslaving Africans is no better or worse than slavery in ancient times. Hell, slavery in ancient Rome was probably worse - it was their own people they enslaved!
  
  3. Racism/prejudice is everywhere. Most countries don't have HALF the diversity America has. While the internment camps during WWII were terrible, you can't compare it to the bigotry of, say, Nazi Germany and their little prejudice against those Jews. :P

  Nobody's forcing you to eat the food. :P If you're that worried about it, start your own farm, grow your own plants, crops, livestock, etc. and live off that. The "genetically modified" crap you eat is the price you pay for convenience and low cost.
