I was pure mage when Alexina first started and it was a hard beginning. But look at me now, I'm a strong mage with some alchemy skills.

Idea is ridiculously ridiculous.

Hmmm... Well, I've been a mage since practically the game started, I played occasionally from G4-G9 and I went hardcore when I got Blaze. From my perspective, being a newbie mage is tough (I assume newbies will be the only group demanding this good). You know, bolts just don't cut it. Although this will change in G13. Anyways, I don't think MP pots in the healer's house would break the game as long as they are more expensive than the rest of pots. The tendency I notice is MP being 60% more expensive than HP or Stam, so 2240~3000 gold per stack of MP 30's would be fine. That would also push down the price of MP 100's since they are supplementary goods, and then we have some love for mages ;D
I just don't see any real reason why MP shouldn't be sold at the Healer's House. If it's because of mana shield, then would you think it would be fine we had MP 30's if it was taken away? Just a thought.

I'd love to be able to buy MP30s from NPC shops.
Especially since some npcs talk about being able to make them themselves.
I don't see much of a downside to putting them in the NPC shops.
They'd help a lot more than they'd hurt, as far as I can see.
Saying that it'd make it harder for someone to die is a GOOD thing. Using it as Mana Shield Fuel is a positive thing. Being able to have a source of MP restoration handy, without the need to prepare, is great.
It wouldn't destroy the potion market, since people would still want MP50/100/300(?) for more potions until they become poisoned.
Having mp30s only available through monsters/quests is just a slowed down version of being able to buy them from the shop. It wouldn't make that much of a difference, would it? Like... Someone Spent 30 minutes gathering MP30s from Skeletons in Rabbie. But if they were available to be purchased from an NPC they could buy the same amount from the NPC. It has the same output of potions, just in a different amount of time. But that could be said about a lot of things.
It wouldn't really affect magic as far as people saying that "adding MP30s" would make adv magic OP.
It'd be similar to someone taking their time and making their own potions, as far as the effect goes. Sure, they'd be chugging a bunch of MP30s instead of an MP100 or two, but it'd still be the same. Or something...?

there has actually been bunch of debates relating to mp 30s on gameabout.
They actually had brilliant ideas like making mp 30s have limited sales per day and making it personalized. So that way bolters can have easy mp, but mages can't use them to replace their need to buy mp 100s.
But still nexon didn't accept it, so taking that into consideration, Nexon will never simply put mp 30s in shops. It failed even with ideas.

SCREW GAME BALANCE!
/slams fist on table
What I usually do when I hear debates like this...
Complaining about wanting MP30s in the NPC stores while gathering herbs to train potionmaking to have a reliable way to make mp100s as soon as I have the herbs available... There's a word for doing something like that...
Having no hope?
It'll never change though.
I'll always want a restoration method easily and quickly accessible in any RPGs I play MMO or otherwise.
And it doesn't look like Mabinogi will have that...
Haaah...

my opinion on the matter... mages = op in g13 not overpowered they should be nerfed.. but .. overpowered in.. its about time... alchemy too gets a boost
with the g13 masteries magic.... bolts.. will be... just as strong as melee is... im serious... with the full masteries and the mixing magic you can output some DEvESTATING dmg... at cost of 2-3 mp on each rank 1 bolt so... for 5 shots, of ice fire combination both rank 1 you might use.. 7 mp for 1 charge x 5 for 5 shots so 5x7 = 35? 35 mp and you'll be hitting close to 1-4k bolt shots (depending on crit rank, masteries ranked and int stat, and so on)
On alchemy WC with RA or full water output gear.. maxed tsunami? cylinder (g13, stronger then current water cylinder) max that.... max crit rank.. and you'll probably do about 5-8k water cannon crits.... scary ... aint it?
...
..
.
Now add chain cylinder rank 1....
and they say... melee is better then everything... pshhh

Gotta miss the clown salesman selling the 300 mana pots, people complaing about mp 30s but they sure didn;t complain about the mp 300s or so I
Haven't heard.

Yeah...
Oh but the MP300 wasn't the reason I liked having him around.
I LOVED!!!!!!!!! the foods he sold!
Chocolate Souffle!
I wanna make one!
But I don't think we can! :T_T:
Yeah, but since those potions were so limited and nearly everyone knew that the shop itself was limited time only, those potions were commonly bought out by people. Just like those excellent powders.
But now, the only people who can get Ancient Powders are rich auction-goers. T_T
Oh, wait, on topic...
um...

Monsters don't like to watch me restore my MP like that.
They just hit me. D:
Course I can always play that outside of combat.
But I like restoring MP faster, in combat. :[
Edit:
Oh!
But you know, Yogurt, you bring up a neat point.
Hold on lemme type.
It'd be nice to have a restoring Bard in the party, if only the party exp wasn't divided amongst everyone, but instead everyone got the whole worth of the monster killed.
Like a party of two getting 1000 exp each from a monster that gives 1000 exp instead of getting 500 exp each.
I've always liked that kind of a party exp system.

mediation rank 9, Future rank 1 300%, magic masteries, mana usage decrease efficiency up, more mp skills, less mp, use a combo, make your own pots... its not that hard... comon... it takes what? like 80 ap to get thunder to the point of .. doing rafting easy... it only gets easier... (giants however have it rough) >.< if only throw attk coooldown was lowered to 10 seconds instead of a MASSIVE GIMPING 30 :/ .... i mean .. elves can dish out ... what? 20 mag shots? at close range... where we shoot ... 1/4 dmg... of their 1 while they shoot 20 lol though i know all the elves are gonna flame this so gg

It's a nice idea, but I can see why MP30s aren't sold in Healer Shops. It's to balance out Mana Shield, and also to limit newbies' usage of Blaze, a middle-class Magic skill they can gain early access to.
The real root of the problem is that Mana regenerates incredibly slowly compared to Stamina. Even r1 Meditation doesn't come close to natural Stamina regeneration, and that's without using r7+ Rest and a high rank Campfire. Low MP regeneration is a big turn off for newb mages.

i started mainly as a mage, (r9 range) and i died so many freakin time(partially for being a glasscannon [elf]) T_T. eventually i just went alchemy cuz it was too hard to constantly spam blaze and lightning T_T;;; so now i just use those occasionally when i need to :x (thank god for golem...)
