Mabinogi is made so that mages have hard time. The developers said it themselves that mages are supposed to be rare. Which means that being a mage won't be as easy as meele/range.
Even if there are good intentions (which there are not except for nubs QQing), developers won't add mp 30s to shops. Maybe if we get a mage for the C5 developer leader, but not under Moon we won't.
OMG I am a rarity! ;~;

low lv mage are srewed due to not having mp pots in shops
also its not fair, melee and range are more powerful and less ap intensive AND they get sp pots
let mages have there mp pots, so they have a chance, imagine having to chug 5 sp pots for a windmill and not being able to buy pots from the shop!
mabi is harsh to mages, and yet they get push down by people who greedy and want to sell mp pot; that sucks
Okay, even if it is proven or whatever, I don't see what is so damned hard about being a mage. I started melee and am branching out now, and mp is NEVER a problem. I don't buy MP pots, I MAKE them. Fireball and Ice Spear are Rank D and Thunder is R5. My bolt skills are R1, as well as Magic Mastery, and my meditation is capped. I'm no mage, but it seems that all I see here is, "Bah I'm too lazy to do dungeons for mana herbs! Oh I don't want to look for those silly meditation books... Oh I want a free ride to the top without doing any work whatsoever~"
You can raft, do part time jobs, get herbs from dungeons.
It's hard for beginner mages because they don't have money, granted. But you know, ptjs, rafting and dungeoning are free. Fancy that!
It all boils down to laziness. MP has never been NPC shop available in the games I've played, and it should never be since it only breeds laziness. Screw 'Pure' builds. This is Mabinogi. Enable yourself to produce your own MP by learning how to make potions.

Being a mage isn't newbie friendly anyway. What kind of noob has enough money to shell out for 5k+ per point repairs on wands? Heck, what kind of newbie has enough for 60k wands? Magic is clearly meant to be support in the earlier levels- bolt attacks aren't very powerful, they function more to extend melee or ranged attack combinations. And by the time you get the intermediate magics, you should be able to support either making your own mana potions or buying it from other players. I don't see any reason for mana potions to be freely available from npc shops. Also, Pierrick. /coughs

If people are having trouble getting MP pots, just spam Shadow Wiz Int. Those pots will drop from those female wizards up the wazoo. This is how I get a majority of my mp pots (when I'm not gathering mana herbs).

Magic userers are suppose to have a hard time with the mp...it's the point of balence.

MP potions have been in NPC shops in tons of games I've played. >_>
I just wish there was a more predictable way of getting herbs.
Running through a dungeon floor just to find that the herb rooms don't have the herb you want.
L-Rodding in Solea is a step up, but I'd love more predictability.

But it'd still be nice to have mp30s from the shops.
Wanting more convenience isn't the same as laziness.

well selling 10 and 30 mp pots in shops would let people to train thier magic more easlyly

No, absolutely not.
If you want to train your magic, get raccoon cub, then grind at the mana tunnels.
Fighting using Magic without any penalties will be so darn OP.

If NPC sell MP potions then we will end up seeing lazy newb mages who doesn't like hard work.
IMO mages are the easiest to play as long you have mana(aka a safe income)

This is supposed to be a game, not a full time job, right?

obviously Mabinogi isn't meant for a strictly pure build of any kind, otherwise we'd have skill/gender locked characters just like Vindictus
as someone said Mages aren't suppose to be common
and really a "beginner mage" should already know what to expect if they wanted to be one, if they wanted to be a mage badly enough they'll end up like some of the mages we have now
if not they can simply just go do melee or range
it's pretty true that it just boils down to laziness, after G3 none of my characters ever NEEDED pots (sure they're handy, it's really just a luxury rather than a necessity) and if this was such a big problem, I'm sure DEVcat would've done something about it in the, what 6 years mabi's been running?
just like people that doesn't really do ptj themselves for Holy Water (as easy as it would've been to do it, they do allow up to about 12 people to do the ptj for a reason) if they did do ptjs for holy water, there wouldn't be anyone selling them xD
^ that was to the thing about getting pots from ptjs
also well, it's probably because Melee/Range is so easy that there are pots there, not many people would actually buy them(though that's my perspective, I never really had to, I just pick ones up I find during dungeons)
Mabinogi really isn't as hard as most people make it out to be <.<

While I think saying that any of your characters ever needed a MP pot is an understatement, I agree with you on that they should be a luxury and hard to get because of the power it grants to mages in general. Give me any mage an unlimited supply of MP and they will go insane, lol. That's why I think they removed Mana Elixirs. Yesterday I ran Golden Apple with a group of Wizards (high ranked mages), one of each element and I was blazing... I tell you, that was overkill, alchemists or warriors didn't have a chance to hit a thing.

All I see here is a post trying to get a cheap laugh. How is anything I said likened to a full time job? Did I say you had to do everything each and every single day? Did I say you had to do it 9-5 everyday? I don't think I did... Could be wrong though~
What I AM saying is that instead of complaining about it, there are easy ways to supplement buying MP pots. Easy and fast. Go do Manus' part time job. All you have to do is shear sheep and you get MP30s. Easy no?

I was referring to the part where you mentioned laziness, which I don't think applies to any game. I don't really play to have responsibilities, stress or an alter-life, I just want to sit back, relax and let everything flow. Why would somebody qualify as lazy or not if they're playing just to have fun? Ultimately, it's their choice what they want to do with their time, you make it sound like a very boring and unwanted feature of the game which needs to be done diligently. Yeah, I agree, MP should be hard to get because of the very nature of magic but not THAT hard. (I make my own pots btw, just so you don't say I'm lazy)
