This is a rant about God.
I recently read a comment where someone congratulated another person saying, "Congratulations! This is the life He wants you to live." He as in God, of course.
And it made me think, wow, that's pretty damn unfair...
Here I am, doing pretty good in life and God supports me all the way! Pretty amazing, if you ask me. You say this is the life He wants me to live? Thanks, God!
But then you turn to those kids in Africa and those other third-world countries, like Haiti (who is going through a crazy hurricane atm), and you repeat the same question...
This is the life He wants them to live?? Seriously?
A life of misery, poverty, hunger? Making your children miss school so they can work to get few more bucks to sustain the family? Because you don't earn enough to do it alone?
So God supports my happiness, yet supports their misery? Because "this is the lives He wants us to live"?
This is why I don't believe in God.

Read old testament. God was a dick, self explanatory.
should be noted that most gods was place with human qualities as well, in order to explain the reasons why **** happens, as a Christian I blame Christianity as the reason why people think god is such a nice guy. As some one put it, Christians needed a nicer dad because the old dad was mean. Which stomp out the whole human aspect of gods, and them be portraying as all-being, beyond the scope of what humanity can understand.
Also nature is a *****.

If there's a God up there, he's just really apathetic, IMO. This is why we can't depend on a God for everything.
God doesn't make things happen, you do. Nature does. Coincidences do.

Yeah, I have the thought that nature is his wife for the longest time, and the fact that he is suppose to have a wife in Judaism if I heard that right. Of course one can look at genesis and say it was man fault, and and about every other origin story for man in religion has always blame the reasons for suffering on the fallacy of man kind.

You know how a game is boring without enemies to fight/compete?
You are the hero/heroin. The ones you talked about are the princesses that you have to rescue.
When you hear about disasters in Haiti or starving people in Africa, don't complain about it to God, YOU do something about it. Send in donations, volunteer as help, etc.
God taught Christians to help others. The Christianity that is displayed in media with those people ruining funerals isn't even close to the real thing. They are not even considered Christians, they are just false prophets and people possessed by devils.

Thank you for the link, I appreciate it. And yes, I do try to donate cans and clothes to people whenever I can.
However, this was just a rant. haha
And I don't complain it to God, as you can see. We take control of our own futures! It's just sad to know that some Christians do believe that what happens to you is what "God wants."
Or, "it'll happen if God wants it to happen." That sort of thinking is BS. It'll never happen if you just sit and wait. God will do nothing for you.
No one should "want" such misery for others.

Oh you were referring to them.
Personally, i would consider them the lazy Christians. They think God is going to spoon feed them everything. Haven't they heard of "those who don't work, don't deserve to eat"? I know God helps people, but only if they do their work and it is beneficial to the world.
For example, if a guy wants to be a doctor because he wants to go to Haiti and give medical aids to the victims of disasters, then all he has to do is study hard and God will pave the road for him. But it won't be as if God will give a ride to the doctor diploma.

If I remember correctly that was the case, though I am not an avid reader of the bible, so what would I know. Going to get flame for that.

God helps no one, ABC.
He puts you in this world, tells you to "figure it out," and leaves you.
If he's real, that is.
Doesn't matter what you do. Doesn't matter who you are.

Or god can be the same as what Futurerama stated. Some other being creates life, leaves, and life is left to ponder on its existence. Was my favorite episode.

I want to add onto this.
In the bible, actions and Parables of Jesus, it's HIGHLY inferred that God has intended humans to run our lives and to help others. He even says he shall only help those who help themselves. Instead of just giving up, he will give his blessing onto those who try and try and try. In the Good Samaritan parable, he says he shall bless those who help others as well. "Love thy neighbour" and all that shiz. Even though this post is biased, I try to keep an open mind. Phunkie, you said that God is like a person who is like (My interpretation of what you said), "Here, this is what I'm giving you, good luck *kicks out of car*". That is VERY true, but... (Everything after the end of this bracketed area is simply my personal belief) life is simply a test to see what your nature is, to see if you are worthy or able to get into Heaven. Simply believing in God and Jesus doesn't give access to Heaven. Doing what you can and giving progress to society, no matter how small, is the way to make the ticket valid. You just have to KEEP TRYING and move forward.
Also, @ Mag about the futurama episode:
I keep thinking about this too, and sometimes, I end up thinking that that is what happened.

Futurama also stated that "If you do something right, people won't know you've done anything at all."
Which means God may be helping them, but doing it secretly enough so that we don't notice. Thus we won't completely depend on God for things we want.
Also, this is the basic good vs evil subject. It can also be said that their poverty is the fault of our own colonialism and capitalism, and not God's actions/will.

This is rather open-ended, no? It'd make more sense if we at least had a consensus as to what we refer to with the term god.
From a christian perspective, unless you are helping to improve the lives of those in misery (and no, I don't mean sending pennies a day to Africa, etc.), then you aren't living the life he wants you to live. It's no secret that humans constantly screw up god's ideal situation and the miserable are a direct result of that. It basically comes down to him having a plan for everyone to prosper...but humans choose not to follow it and he isn't going to force them to do so against their will.
For that reason, even if you're living the life he wants you to that doesn't mean there won't still be problems in the world. You do everything you can and not an ounce less, and you get your smile/gold star/cookie. That doesn't mean the situation is now ideal, just that you were part of the solution, not the problem.

Well then, time for the generic "answer any God question" answer:
It's his master plan. You don't understand why he is doing it, all you need to know is that it's the best thing for everyone.
Also Magenera, that episode was awesome and is probably the only reason why I have faith and believe in God.
