The people I hang out with know about Mabinogi but only like 2 play it.
For my online friends people I met through other games they called it gay ._. <<< Coming from a Mapletard

To tell the truth, I wanted to play Mabinogi because it sounded like a Harvest Moon MMO. Then when I finally played it, it turned out to be ten times better than I imagined it to be.
My friends don't play it because they said it was really complicated and required a ton of time put into it, and they're the kinds of guys who jump from MMO to MMO (They played Dungeon Fighter, and then they played Vindictus, but they never kept playing it after it got old).

^ Same with me....kinda. I joined Mabinogi at first because I saw like farming or something LOL. There's still much grinding involved, but it's not at mindless as a lot of other MMORPGs.
Also, I don't understand how hardcore gamers can have friends who are the complete opposite of them. I've never seen a girl who is a hardcore gamer and somewhat nerd but a cheerleader at the same time. Like wut? Shouldn't friends be at least sort of similar to you? I wouldn't be able to stand anyone who has completely different interests from me. =/
But anyways, if anyone's friends will tease a person to no end or insult them because they like to play a game, they're not true friends and should be dumped. I like to be comfortable with my friends. We should understand each other and accept things about each other. It's not like gaming isn't socially acceptable, so it shouldn't be a hard thing to do. A lot of guys (even jock types) might play FPSes sometimes, so what makes MMOs any different? And girls should be able to play just as much as guys without getting insulted.

Not at all. I probubly make several references to it in daily conversation. And, I want to cosplay my character for the next animation and gameing convention...
...but, my dad's a game nerd, my friend's are game nerds, hey, even my boyfriend is a game nerd! Who cares? xD? (He will log into mabi to amuse himself with smacking Grey Wolves around with a mandolin.)

Not at all, haha because Mabinogi is cool >:
I somehow think it's more embarrassing if you admit that you play WoW...

I'm very silent in RL, and nobody cares what I do or say. So nope.

I openly talk about it to my best friends, who also play the game, pretty much all the time, and nobody bats an eyelash at it. I guess I'm just sort of lucky with this kind of thing.

No one i know IRL plays MMO's.
My friends try it, they get upset they cant keep up with my leveling. They quit.
Thats their excuse.

When some classmates came over to my house for a project and saw the Celtic icon, they asked what it was and I showed them Mabinogi. Just an SM or two. They instantly thought it as a Japanese clone of WOW. >_>

Embarrassed? Not at all -- some know I play and some don't if they make fun of it that's their opinion which I find funny all the time since we normally make fun of each other anyway =]
