Why are so many people gushing over Karok?

  This question has an obvious answer - Its something new. It happens in all games. In TF2, its hilarious when an update comes out because every single person plays whatever class was updated. A new ability, like blocking boss attacks, sounds like a super fun idea, and people want to try it out. Just like stunning people by whacking them with baseballs sounded fun.

  You can give hugs to everyone ^^ Hugs of death +_+ He's a character entirely based on gripping and grabbing enemies is a pretty big feature in the game, it's just loses its usefulness with the other classes except this one. I mean the game already has every stereotype pretty much. I personally liked grappler in Dungeon Fighter so Kalok will probably be just as fun.

  Actually, Karok can roll to dodge. I saw it in a youtube vid with gameplay footage.
  Blocking smashes also appeared to drain all of Karok's stamina.

  Karok can dodge. He has as much survival chances as any other classes.
  
  My main card with Karok is that his grab can be useful in party plays and burst dmg (like Evie's Firebolt). Other than that, Karok doesn't seem to do well in the DPS department, but we'll see.
  
  Take this logic when Evie was about to come out and you get the same results.

  I wasn't too sure what all the hype was about either, till I saw the video.
  
  I have -no- idea where his shortcomings are, but really, when you look that beastly does it really matter? Even if he can't dodge, he can look really epic in the time before he dies.
