off topic single image replies is counted as spam anyways so when it bothers you report it for a mod to come in and kick asses (unless it's in the spam forums).
So technically it's already banned, just not under the terms "image replies".

This is ridiculous.
You can't ban people using images in their replies. Completely unreasonable.
If you don't like it, you don't have to look at the image, or even click on the thread any more. Maybe if you were a mod, you would change things, but until then, you're going to have to get used to it.

You can't just go around and troll people with "lol@u" images, there are even rules against them.
Banning for posting the images is a bit too harsh, but telling people that they have to "get used to" them is ridiculous.

Pretty sure that ban in this case is meaning "do not allow".

No, there's a happy medium here. When a post is reported or we see trolling, it's obvious. Sometimes, it's acceptable to use an image as a reply, especially if it shows the reaction of the poster at hand, provides info, etc. What would be messed up is a string of images not related to the topic at hand, not helping the poster express how they feel about the topic at hand, etc. Anything that derails a thread entirely, images or not, is unacceptable. But if it's just a macro that could be applied to the conversation? No big deal.

Yeah, this is what I thought. When the picture is relevant, it's fine. I don't see what's wrong here.
It's not often people post completely off topic images anyways, what would be the point?

No, telling them to get used to it is
not ridiculous. Banning images from appearing in forums is
completely unreasonable.
If it's a troll image, then report it as spam. Someone will take care of it. Otherwise,
get used to it.

It's not banning images, just not one-image responses. Not saying I'm agreeing with banning them.
But still, calm down a bit.

Yeah don't tell me to calm down, this is calm for Tibarn. ;3
Anyways. Banning one image responses is just as ridiculous. Plus, people would just go...
/avoid
...or something and avoid the one image ban.

I'd agree that image macros are being used rather carelessly... But there are threads where image replying is relevant. I'm not going to dig them out, but I RPed someone who doesn't speak, so images were an effective way of communication.
@Tibarn: Your terse manner of speaking and calling other people's ideas "ridiculous" will naturally come off as an angered response-- others will assume the reason why you act callously is because you're not aware of it and in an emotional state. Well, it's your choice on how you behave, but I don't think it's a very compelling stance...

Why? Is this called "an imageboard for idiots" or is this called a decent forum? If it's the latter then image responses shouldn't be here.
