To Cryosite; Which is why I hated the older class system. I prefer to use the current one we have now. I don't want to be forced have restricted skills..
And ugh, no offense, but... I really hate it when old class system was here, some people was all like "omg just go to adventurer class, you moron." Yes you keep pre-G13 skills, but you CANNOT get the new skills in G13+ which was my biggest issue about old class system.
But all I wouldn't if they could make other stats such as Str, or HPs, get reduced little more per level up for depending on what classes you choose long as you can USE ANY SKILLS. They could make the skills un-rankable too depending on the classes you choose. I'd be okay with that too long as there's no restriction on any skills..
Why would you be able to? The new skills were created with an specialization mindset, wich means only people dedicated enough on the skill's area should get it. Why would a jack of all trades have the same power as a dedicated magician? why would a scrawny adventurer be able to take hits and dish the same damage as an specialized knight? why would someone who wants to go just LOL GOLEM have the knowledge of a profesional alchemist? etc. you get the point.
Now you have pick a class, win game system that changes nothing and just makes the game more stupidly retarded, thank you KR mabi, you ****ing ruined what could have been an interesting system for the rest of us.

I agree with you Everwanderer, there were many new skills in the database during the old system dedicated to the job classes that we will probably never see again, such as Berserker for knights, Teleport for Mages(yes teleport, i'd gladly give up windmill for this), Dagger Mastery for adventurer etc etc.
We will probably get dagger mastery, staff/wand mastery but I doubt we will see berserker or teleport.
The reason why the class system was added in the first place was so the developers could add more skills, they felt players were getting too strong, Combat power and AP is not enough to restrict, there is no limit. Having no limit in this kind of game can be good and bad, it attracts players to the game but it causes players to get bored quickly. Maybe NA doesn't have this problem since we have not been around as long as Korea, but Korean mabinogi probably faces this problem.
In the end you have to ask yourself, would you rather skills be restricted and classes to be added OR would you rather mabinogi shut down due to frustration of the developers and Mabinogi 2 added with a class system in place.

^ I'd rather have Mabinogi being shut down than have those lame, restricted skills. Call me crazy but it's how I felt about the old class system.
Thank you, KR director for listening to KR users, and remove the restrictions on class system, I'll gladly continues to pay Mabinogi and plays this game because of no class restriction.

I was just adressing the bolded issue on my previous post, and Vejosa added more info to make it even more clear. If you're still too thickheaded (no offense) to understand what we're trying to say then... /shrug
Mabi's gameplay is becoming old and stale, everyone walking being a "one man army" has lost it's novel. Devs need to adress this issue asap or the game dies, but the community also has to understand that they need to give new things a chance. They were fast to judge the class system for only it's cover, they didn't see it in depth and now we're getting a half-assed chapter, originally based on the premise of the class system. Players are always asking for change and new things, but when these come they hastily judge them.

If I was Korean and lived in Korea... I would propose solutions to class system in major forum debates.

I think a lot of the trouble comes the fact that many people chose mabinogi because there are no classes. You can do whatever you want to do. It's one of the wonderful reasons mabinogi is different. When they started changing that, people got scared. I think they saw it as a threat. Mabi was changing. In general people don't like change.
Whoever's in charge of the decision making for mabi saw the outcry as a threat to their profits so it was changed. They don't care about the game and how it balances. Profit is their only concern. It is a business after all.
Sometimes I wonder how great it would be to see them actually care to make a good game instead of an extremely profitable one. For one thing, I bet I'd have a lot more clothing options.

[Sarcasm] Oh, boo hoo. The poor hybrids wouldn't be able to use every single skill in the entire game. Poor hybrids. I think we should call devcat, and ask them to give Zeo every skill his heart desires. Let's give Zeo Full Swing, Mirage Missile, and Wind Guard, while we are at it. No one should ever have to make a sacrifice. Let's just let players use multiple classes at a time. Hell, let's let them use all four at once! Let's give everyone the melee of a giant, and the range & speed of an elf! No one should ever have to make any sacrifices! [/Sarcasm]
I don't like being rude, but apparently that's the only way some people can understand. Quit being so thick. If you want to use every skill, do not expect to be best at them. It's basic logic that someone who focuses on a single fighting style would be better at it than someone who focuses on several styles.

Lol the way I see new skills is that their the only way a player can continue fighting longer and more dragged out fights that the developers are introducing to mabi (elite mode lawl). In g1-3 we had our basic skills and they were enough to fight short term but as things got more hp and fights got longer, we were forced to use more "tricks in our bag of skills" to engage in them properly.

at this rate the enemies are just gonna keep getting stronger and stronger cause there's not really many ways to "challenge" higher level players
also there are restrictions ingame already that people usually don't notice
Races/Age/genderprovide a restriction similiar to those of classes (people complain about those anyways)
like the magical clothes having age restrictions, are the main reason why I never wear them or get them
though I suppose that might be the only way to create a "class" for mabi is if skills are available to everyone, but is weakened or strengthened by these characteristics- which made me realize they could've done that for classes <-< stronger skills in their class, weakened if not or weakened if it's a certain race as well (makes sense to me at the same time keeps the availability of it)

Actually I read that after the class restriction war was won there was another Petition over Race restrictions, Giants wanted more range, elves wanted Arrow revolver, etc etc.
The developers were even talking about how they were going to remove race restrictions as well in their interview like give humans stomp or elves final hit, but were scared it would ruin the balance of the game.
Also on another note, I think it was mostly human characters that were against the class system. The system itself seemed to make Giants (Knight) and Elf (Bard/Archer/Mage) more powerful so I don't think we really cared much. I guess this is because we have been Class restricted from the time we have been created.

I'd really, really rather they didn't.
That would over power giants to the point that there would be no hope for any other race. Not to mention the oddness of seeing a little elf use "stomp".. wth? As much as i love the almost limitless abilities in mabinogi.. the key word is almost. You NEED boundaries in a game since without boundaries the game will fall to pieces. Theres dozens of examples to pit it against but they are so obvious I wont post them (example A what are we on?).

LOL If they did that, there would be NO point for a different race, you might as well be human since there are no downfalls xD

Solution to class arguments
If you like it, pick a class
If you don't, go adventurer (jobless)
