Well, it seems like the japanese really like to experiment with a lot of stuff. I don't think the magical girl genre has been done like this before.
mhmm.
I hope they release more stuff like this. I wish it was longer.

Well, this was done by Shaft and they do a lot of weird things just like Gainex does.
Shaft loves to do 12 episode series so that's why this was so short.

Of course, but Madoka is their only original one.
They do alot of light novel adaptations. Watch Bakemonogatari (mostly dialougue but it's one of my favourite anime) and their newest one Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko (romantic comedy) is pretty good too.
Shaft tends to make super trippy OPs and EDs (bakemono has 5 different OPs in 12 eps xD) and they love to make references to a lot of pop culture.

I love how we're contemplating so much about a bunch of cartoon girls and a white thingy that doesn't exist.
Most of the great literary classics are about people that don't exist. War and Peace, Homer's Epic Poems, Paradise Lost, Journey to the West to name a few. Yet there are scholars and other academics that analyze it for a living. Just because they don't exist doesn't make it any less significant if they do bring up intriguing concepts and themes.

He already stated he knew that... He just found it funny when he thought about it.

Yes for Bake, it's trippier than Madoka since it's art style changes quite a bit. In Bake, they tend to use live action pictures in some parts which makes things really creepy.

Madoka doesn't have many witch hunts but in them they're super trippy.
Bake has many trippy moment but not as concentrated as Madoka. Well depends on how you see it.
Still very recommended series.

On an unrelated note...Thanks everyone for helping Homura level and be more then a Soul Gem.
Now I wonder when Charlotte will come out of her Grief Seed :what:

I loved this anime so much that I've begun watching it again. It's so much better once you understand after watching it through the first time.
