The problem is probably that they had it playable on the website.
Take that off and it's just a bunch of text useless outside of mabi.

Step 1: Download 3MLE
Step 2: Download the MIDI version of the song you're looking for (VGmusic, etc)
Step 3: Import the MIDI into 3MLE
Step 4: Break the song down to your level of composing, making sure that you have no more than three tracks
Step 5: Export the MML to your clipboard
Step 6: If the song you attempted to convert is a popular anime song, slap yourself and start over with another song

Darn. I'm no good at composing at all, and there were a lot of songs I liked that I couldn't find on ours, too.Ah, well. I was getting to the rank where I can't use scrolls anyway.

The first thing I ever did in Mabi was rank Composing/Instrument Playing/Music Knowledge because I had fun playing Touhou songs from Mabimml. This is, to say the ****ing least, absolute bull****. As someone said, these MMLs were basically the equivalent of midis, and has all of one widespread application, why shut it down? Because music companies are paranoid about anyone not having to go through them as music.
This, and only this, is why I HATE copyright laws.
Also, the people who say "hurr compose your own songs", maybe people suck at composing (I love music, do I have to go and learn notation?) and want to play songs easily for fun?

My God.
People are already spamming Bleach and Carameldansen in Dunby.

And... this is new?
I've had bard music turned off since G1 because of the choice of music 99.99999999999999% of the community has. Not to mention, even if it's a half decent piece of music, and the MML is well done, you still make tons of mistakes and it sounds like crap anyways.

I've always had Bard music on and while it isn't new, the amount of spamming it is. Yeah, you get someone who plays a common song every now and then but it's generally well mixed. Or was, I should say.
Seriously I have never seen two people spam Carameldansen at the same time before.

The last time I had it on there was always 1/4 of the people in dunbarton or Tir (only 2 popular towns at the time)trying to play their music over each other, resulting in sounds which could only be described as ear rape.

midi>MML, self optimization = profit.

At least I have Vocaloid and 3ML 8DDD
Yay for Vocaloid's "export as MIDI" thing.
but yeah this kinda sucks. I never played most of those songs that everyone plays, but I ALWAYS got overplayed by them o.e one of the things I hate about playing music in mabi.

I myself also just discovered that the site closed down. I am feeling sad that I can no longer use some of the finer crafted songs with the trainer at the beginning of most songs that I used to find on there. Mere words can describe how useful it was for me. I have tried many times to make my own MML music and could never get it right. I enjoyed the length of the songs and the wide range of tastes they had stored.
It will be missed and i do not look forward to finding a replacement site.

I plan to open a bilingual clone of this site sometime in the future, but I'm so swamped with schoolwork it won't be very soon.
But I do think it's better to write MML yourself instead of taking it, although a sharing site is really nice to see other's work.

I agree that it's way better. I've seen people show it off to their friends in Dunby Square, pretending to claim it for themselves to look impressive.
I'm glad that it's gone for that way, but not glad that I can't see how other people do their effects and stuff to help my own composing codes.
