MABINATION SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD

I tried that, woo, it worked!

It's not what I expected through, I was hoping it would give me something to use when Lightning Rod is on cooldown and there isn't enough time to cast Fireball due to multiaggro, but it seems by the time I ice spear and get into position I get multi-aggroed anyway! (maybe I'm just sucking though haha)

Does anyone have a good video demonstration of Blaze? I know it's amazing for the martial tournament, but what about shadow missions?

I recently read a nice detailed guide on using Blaze during MA here on mabination and in short a good way to deal with multiaggro using Blaze is to use Act 6: Crisis + Act 4: Rising Action + Blaze. It's explained as a two person stunt though, so I'm not sure how well it translates to solo play, as that seems to be your problem.

Another cool trick I heard of is Thunder + Charge + Blaze (here's a video explaining how it works) and while I couldn't try it first hand because I don't have Charge it looks promising.

Lullaby, Crisis Escape, aoe pets and/or setting a cloud with Rain Casting beforehand can also buy you precious seconds when dealing with multiaggro.

The thunder trick fails in post-reno with the shorter delay before the hit.

The IS trick from above only really works with a savage ice wand, or otherwise switching from an IS-capable staff to a combat wand on your other set. Failing to use combat/savage severely gimps the blaze damage.

Blaze is not a reactive skill (at least not on NA with our latency), and won't help vs multi aggro. It's a damage dealer used with a setup, like the crisis->crash(not rising) into blazer on standby 2-man MA tactic.

If you need time against multi (and they don't ping blue), IS->FB is actually doable with FB's new cast time. You may or may not want vivace to help make sure you can always fire in time.

And of course, there's the old high-cost standby of thunder spam. Works against small multi crowds.

Why would you slow things down by using crash instead of rising...

Crash drags the entire group deliberately into the blazer while filling all of their knockdowns and softening them up with heavy damage. Wouldn't rising just spread them all out?

What the hell is the point of the 150% smithing EXP stones for Alban?

I got so excited, hoping to get x12 with the upcoming x2 smithing event, then I found out there's no anvils there.

There is a small timeframe after the crisis pull that any attack that would knock back simply bounces.
The problem with act 4 is that it knocks in a circle instead of all at once, which is why using act 7 well or shooting rush works neatly.

No, rising when used immediately after crisis just makes it bounce in place and it's instant, so you can get to the real damage (blaze) faster.

There's also no chance for error or missing, since the blazer(s) just stand directly below puppet and mindlessly charge blaze without any further consideration.

After I returned I noticed pics on the forums of diamond shape talent icons, yet mine are still square. Can anyone explain I'm curious what ,where, and when did these show up.
