The IS trick from above only really works with a savage ice wand, or otherwise switching from an IS-capable staff to a combat wand on your other set. Failing to use combat/savage severely gimps the blaze damage.
Blaze is not a reactive skill (at least not on NA with our latency), and won't help vs multi aggro. It's a damage dealer used with a setup, like the crisis->crash(
not rising) into blazer on standby 2-man MA tactic.
If you need time against multi (and they don't ping blue), IS->FB is actually doable with FB's new cast time. You may or may not want vivace to help make sure you can always fire in time.
And of course, there's the old high-cost standby of thunder spam. Works against small multi crowds.
