  He may have copied that from Mussolini, but Mussolini was nowhere as famous as Hitler.

  That should be wrong. I believe Germany's debt was greatly reduced and paid off during the Marshall Plan era of history.
  
  Hitler did not pissed off the US. Japan got the US to enter the war. Hitler alone was not enough to get the US into the war. Hitler's mistake was definitely advancing into Russia, similar to Napoleon's mistake.
  
  However, Russia and the empire of Germany cannot exist next to each other for long. They have opposite ideologies. If Hitler did not attack, Russia would have attacked Germany. When Japan showed no interest in attacking Russia, Russia was able to focus all its attention to the West instead of separating West/East.

  That should be wrong. Germany's debts in World War II was all forgiven when the US help reconstructed Western Europe.

  Noone ever said that influential has to be a good or bad thing. Hitler is one of the most influential people of the last century especially since World War 2 is one of the biggest event of last century as well. Hitler was featured in Time Magazine as one of the most influential person in the 20th century.
  
  Then again, World War 2 is less than one hundred years ago. Maybe in a few centuries, people will forget about World War 2, and Hitler will be forgotten.
