  You're right about that. Actually I wrote an essay about that matter. Germans cannot blame Hittler for his atrocities; a leader effectively represents what a group/community/society as a whole wants/needs. Hitler could have been just any guy at that time you know; Germans hated Jewish people and their economy was **** because of WWI. By 1932 the number unemployed people was over 5mil (30%+). A radical change was needed, as Germany ventured into the 20th century. Isn't it natural that something was done about it? Someone had to take the lead, right? A nationalist, perhaps? Somebody who fully identified with German roots (unlike Jews, whom Germans hated because they were running the economy and weren't real Germans)?
  
  Hitler recovered the economy. When and where do you think Volkswagen was created? It's the car of the people! Volks (pronounced folks) shares the same root as folk, which is people, and wagen is a wagon, a car, etc. People's car. That sounds socialist and industrialist, amiright? Hitler believed every citizen had the right to own a car. That boosted the economy (Industrialization) and people started to love him.
  
  Germans had a strong feeling that they deserved a revenge, Hitler started WWII. Simple. It's what the people wanted.
  
  Therefore, a leader isn't a dictator: this is what he became after Germany entered WWII, to the GERMANS, but not to the Socialist German Workers Party=Nazis, who fully supported him ---still embodying what that small group wanted.
  
  I don't know much about History, but it's very clear to me that Hitler was the wrong guy, with the right skills (oratory, strength, powerful speeches, a GREAT intellect), in a extremely unfortunate situation.

  mhm, in actuality Hitler is not the one to blame for the holocaust, it's the Germans who had followed, Hitler never physically hurt a soul (other than his own suicide) but because of his great leadership he could manipulate the Germans easily.

  If the aforementioned people affect our viewpoint on different things today, Hitler influenced many people that contributed ideas that influence us today. Albert Einstein for one was forced to move to the US after having a bounty on his head. I don't think the US would have had as many nukes, if at all, if Einstein did not warn the US about the possibility of the Germans making nukes. Think about some of the technological advancements and foreign awareness that came with World War II as well as the people who were killed that could have contributed ideas to our society. It was called a World War for a reason, and many of its consequences will carry on for a very, very long time.

  interesting! it did make a lot of media, a lot of weapons technologies, a lot of stereotypes .. great for the economy at the time.
  people always do reference past wars and histories when making decisions today, but as it stands it appears like history will repeat itself every single time any ways, without the help of Hitler.
  I still would not make him the most influential person of the last century, but he's certainly much more popular. (maybe not as much as einstein)

Which led him to hate jews and use them as part of his methods to manipulate the Germans in to following his lead, with the whole Aryan Master Race thing going on. Not to mention his mother sort of died around the same time his life was taking a dump on him, which pretty much pissed him off.
  
  I'd say he was something of a political mastermind, but he did have his share of mistakes. Not to mention his motives and actions weren't exactly the best either.

  i think he was angry at jews because he kept getting rejected to an art school over and over again because they thought his art was crap.
  perhaps the school was primarily jewish? I dont remember.

  Frankly, if you remove everything he ever did wrong (which should certainly not be undermined given how much f*cked up stuff it lead to).. he was an amazing leader.
  That still doesn't matter much to me, though, lul. Because of him I was called a nazi all throughout elementary school, QQ.
