Other than the whole holocaust deal and wanting to conquer the world, I think he was a genius.
He had a lot of research going on in architecture and other fields and lead to a lot of innovations. Some of the technology Germany researched during the war didn't show up mainstream until decades later.
A lot of people would go back in time to kill him, but I'd go back in time to convince him not to become a douchebag and lead Germany to prosperity rather than war.

Technically, Hitler wanted to lead Germany to prosperity.

He also wanted to cleanse the earth of jews, homosexuals and handicapped, along with anyone who stood in his way of doing so. He wanted germany to rule the world, not to prosper with what it had.

In Hitler's view, that is prosperity. So you can't say that he didn't want Germany to prosper.

interesting! it did make a lot of media, a lot of weapons technologies, a lot of stereotypes .. great for the economy at the time.
people always do reference past wars and histories when making decisions today, but as it stands it appears like history will repeat itself every single time any ways, without the help of Hitler.
I still would not make him the most influential person of the last century, but he's certainly much more popular. (maybe not as much as einstein)
If what he did would have happened anyways, the same could be said for the innovations and ideas that Einstein and several other great minds came up with. WWII was probably the largest event of the 20th century, and Hitler initiated it, which is why I do think that he was the most influential person in that century. The innovations made during that time transcend just warfare-based ones, like use of nuclear energy as a source of power, to name one. I don't think a lot of Indonesians will know about Freud and what he did, but they will sure remember the massacres of their relatives during WWII.

Hitler was a good leader, and at the time the United States was thinking of implementing the same type of ideas he had. Just think, what if Japan didn't attack America. Would America sided with Germany seeing how they were such close buddies. When I said that America was gonna implement the same ideas, I really mean they were going to copy some of his greatest works. Hell Walt Disney was his greatest admirer. Not that it is really ever known that the US was B.F.F, with Germany. Though thanks to the Holocaust we did get there tech, and scientist. So there is a silver lining.

Well... the war DID lead to incredible innovations in technology expecially regarding rockets and jet aircraft.

that is true.
I'd put him as the most influential in the realm of.. warfare technologies and leadership?
it's hard for me to be objective. but they all seem to have certainly made enormous changes in the present and future.

They were such good buddies that G. W. Bush's grandfather was one of the bankers who got in trouble for funding the Nazi's.
People elected his son, and grandson (twice).

The dude wanted to be a painter. Then, according to my awesome Social Studies teacher, his dreams were apparently screwed by a jewish artist who was better than him which made him jelly. Which led him to hate jews and use them as part of his methods to manipulate the Germans in to following his lead, with the whole Aryan Master Race thing going on. Not to mention his mother sort of died around the same time his life was taking a dump on him, which pretty much pissed him off.
I'd say he was something of a political mastermind, but he did have his share of mistakes. Not to mention his motives and actions weren't exactly the best either.
Let's make it a twist
Hitler had a Jewish neighbor who did better in everything he can
When the jew got into the art school he wanted, he became the Hitler we all know

I thought Saladin was a pretty good leader. It takes a lot to strike fear in your foes, but even more to win their respect.

but don't really know much about him beyond that.
the movie portrayed him as a pretty honorable man.
