  wasn't mature at all ever nope. i wasn't even told if that was okay or not, and then i saw the masturbation thread and felt cheated, as i mentioned what, five or six times now? people still miss the point. if we're catering to minors, then don't bend to their will when they whine that they can't talk about genitals -- and even admit that the only reason it was allowed is because people cried hard enough? that totally screws up whatever argument anyone's posing especially if it's what you resort to repeating every time someone asks how it's fair.

  I've said before, and the rest of the staff has said as well, that discussions of mature topics are fine if the topics are taken seriously and maturely, and will be closed if it starts to get out of hand, but the direct posting of the images isn't. People saying "Parents don't want their children to read things about this nature" have a pretty flawed argument about this by saying that the parents are looking over the child's shoulder. A parent looking over their kid's shoulder while s/he's reading a thread about masturbation isn't as likely to get the kid in trouble, since at most, the parent is only going to skim over what the text says. An image that has a penis that's pretty focused on, both by having the post practically point to it and having the penis be pretty darn close to the center of the image will without a doubt get the kid in trouble. That's why text isn't as harmful as an image.
  
  The only reason that I'm saying that we're now a no mature topic forum again is because Fal has said time and time again that there isn't going to be a mature section, so I'm going by that to just plain out outlaw anything sexual related, kay? Everyone happy now that the threat of ban hammers looming over their heads because they can't just go "fine, mature topics are fine if handled maturely, but images of the same nature aren't" and moved on with it, we wouldn't have to revoke your rights to have a mature discussion on things. We hate to do this, but you guys leave us no choice. Sorry.

  My post was mostly a joke, but I see where you're coming from. Either way, age itself isn't a good way to show your maturity. In all honesty, it's the worst way possible. Your knowledge and views are a better indicator of what you can handle.

  
  
  -Raises eyebrow- I seldom try and judge by age, actually.. but how do you propose we find a solution that works better for the majority without limiting it somehow? It's not as if we can screen every single person on the forum to see if they're mature enough or not.
  A 'mature' section seems to be the best solution to me, honestly. Because it allows the children to keep their innocence, the mature people to discuss things openly without worry of trouble/immaturity, and it keeps the staff happy that they aren't getting complaints.

  you should tell us what in that thread was x-rated. which hand we use? how frequently we did it? how high our libidos are? rationalization is very common when we feel wronged in any way. I see it all the time.
  
  I wonder if the only solution is to ban any and all sex related words and topics out of the forum altogether. It seems like that's the only solution.
  
  edit: mature spoiler tags? that's definitely what deviantart did, and they put an age restriction on it. It was more of an obstacle that I had to forcefully go over since I wasn't 18 yet P:

  to note, i'm fine with your solution. however, i do have to point out.. you do realize the penis is at the general center of the body, right? lol. it's kind of hard to make a fullbody pic that is only focused on the figure not have the penis at the center.
