  The Shadow World is a recent creation; the world was itself created after the various buildings in Taill and Tara were. The Shadow World is just that, a shadow of the real world; everything in it would be a shadow/copy of the real thing.
  
  There are a lot of instances of things like imps, kobolds, goblins, trolls, and ogres being referred to as fomors. I think it is permissible to refer to members of that alliance as fomors; either due to self-reference that supports that practice, or precident that NPC's (mistakenly or otherwise) refer to them as such. Some of that I tend to chalk up to a display of human ignorance: humans seem to like labeling anything non-human and dangerous as fomor.
  
  Incubus/Succubus seems to be its own race, one that is part of the fomor alliance. A lot of Elatha's story hints at that. When Krystel refers to herself being a fomor in the past, it is likely she is referring to that political affiliation, not a racial one.
  
  For the main page, I'd like to contribute that fomors seem to like to cover themselves up a lot. Cichol has every part of his body and face covered (unless his wings are actual parts of his body, and not mere decorations). Black Wizards are similarly covered. Only some of the relatively recent denizens of the Shadow Realm seem to be exposed much.
  
  The critters you encounter running around in the Shadow Realm that are relatively naked by comparison may not actually be fomors either. I suspect they are just undead Pathelonians, some just retain flesh a little better than others.

  Wouldn't it have been interesting if we didn't stop them in G11? After G11, the shadow realm stoped growing. If we had not stoped it, areas like emain, dunbarton and such would have been part of it. Isn't anyone else interested to see how dungeons would be affected by the shadow realm?

  First you need to set this foundation in use of terms.
  "Fomorian " is the race of cvreatures from another world (not to be confused with TNN/Another world. We can call it F-World or Forld). Fomorians are ugly in apperence and such cover their bodies almost entirely. Cichol, Mata, Tehtra, and any enemy with the word Fomorian in their name are Fomorians. Dark and Arat beings are likely also Fomorians.
  
  "Fomor" is a slang term adopted by the Tuatha de danann and others to refer to any individual or race under the direct control of, or allied with, the Fomorians. Goblins, Imps, kobolds and such are all Fomors forced to serve the Fomorians throough the use of Fomor Scrolls. Incubi and succubi, gargoyles trolls ogres and others areall willing allies of the Fomorians. In some cases though they may only be allied to be on the winning side, or they are too stupid and obediant that they don't need to be controlled through magic (trolls for instance).
  
  Beings with the word "shadow" in there names are likely not Fomorians, but natural inhabitants of the Shadow Realm, and they simply serve the fomorians as part of their own self interest to expand the Shadow Realm. It is likely that the Shadow creatures lacked a source of order and command structure and thus the Fomorians were able to take command/ convince them to koin with ease.

  Not all fomor are ugly though, and I belive incubus/succubus might be part fomor (not completely fomor) maybe half fomor half Tuea De dann. This would explain thier horns.

  Remember Morgrant(Lugh), he is part fomor as well according to Irish myth(sure he is a Miltian in Mabinogi but Miltian is more of a title than an actual race since Miltians can be any race).
  
  

  Lugh's father is Cian of the Tuatha Dé Danann, and his mother is Ethniu, daughter of Balor, of the Fomorians. In Cath Maige Tuired their union is a dynastic marriage following an alliance between the Tuatha Dé and the
  Fomorians.In the Lebor Gabála Érenn Cian gives the boy to Tailtiu, queen of the Fir Bolg, in fosterage.

  
  
  Btw, the Fir Bolg is another race that fought with the fomor against the Tuatha De Danann during the first war, I'm not sure if they are in Vindictus yet or not, can someone Clarify?

  But according to Celtic myth Lugh was also Part Fomorian(as quoted above). Remember both his daughter and his son are parth fomorian as well, the mother being a goddess(who I belive was the fomor Queen of the imps, the people of Courcle explain that "Irind" game to iria from the west).

  Vej, I get considering the Celtic Myths, but they're only the guidelines for Mabi and shouldn't be considered as the only option. Remember the game does say Lugh is a Milletian while in the myth he's a Tuatha de dannan/fomor hybrid. So take the myths with a grain of salt. They're good for a foundation but Mabi is a different world and as such is subject to a different history. After all in Celtic Myth Elatha is supposed to be older than Lugh but in Mabi Elatha is Lugh's son.
  
  As for all Fomorians not being ugly, I base this simply on the mythology and the fact that all of them wear masks, because clearly they want to hide from each other that badly.

  if you're doing a study of only fomors from mabi then why would you include RL mythology, which devcat barely used at all?

  Because like I said above, it's good to consider the source material in your analysis. That being said, you're right, Mabi is its own story so it's not intended to be loyal to the original myths. Primarily Dev only used the names of famous people and races, and occasionally a famous place is mentioned. Otherwise dev made their own stuff.

  Lower level fomorians (Goblins, Kobolds, etc) tend to use whatever is availible to them (Which may be little, to nothing at all). Higher level fomarians (Shadow Monsters in general) are equipped with standard armor according to their fighting method (Robes are very useful to a wizard). As for the Shadow Alchemists, I am unsure of them. Cichol is dressed in those long garments adorned with many designs simply because he either likes it, or it is his symbol of his status. Maybe Cichol is hiding a secret, just maybe...
  
  Question: Is the Fomorian symbol more than just a symbol? It's used a lot in places, such as Vindictus, where it creates an impenetrable barrier, and also in the shadow world, where it seals away the boss room.

  That's supposed to be fomors sealing you in/guarding a area till a boss/enemy is defeated.

  As was mentioned above, Goblins and the like are Fomors, not Fomorians. And they don't wear clothing simply because they're culture (what little there may be) doesn't care about nudity.
  
  As for the Fomorian symbol, it seems to be their mark for everything, to let you know that it's theirs. They wear it on their clothes, it's on their tents, their command scrolls, they even make it appear on their magical barriers just do you know it's them. I think it's an ego thing for them. They don't want you to forget. But it seems likely it's just an aesthetic thing and has no other significance.
