I am very fast. Fastest as my school, most likely.
So I finish books about a week before everyone else and have nobody to talk about the ending with ;-;

I hated reading for high school, except a few books (Only enjoyed the Senior year of high school, as my teacher would allow me to summarize the book verbally, rather than do a report), because they're more often than not simply boring...

o.O
I think my record is 600ish pg. book in 5 hours.
I can read faster and I can read slower, it's just that I like taking my time to absorb every detail...

>implying you can read 4 pages a minute continuous for 3 hours
Lying on the internet still isn't cool.

I don't really care what people think of me, because I don't honestly respect anyone I don't know. That would make it pointless to lie, wouldn't it?
Speed readin 4 pages in a minute is easy, especially if you are still able to memorize the book.

Any chance you can read all my summer books for me and do my reports I'll pay you.
-
Forsaken wrote on 2010-05-26 12:49
Why not just paraphrase a summary posted online =D?
Much easier, and less boring for me.

I think I'ma try that.

3600 seconds in an hour.
10800 seconds in 3 hours.
704 pages.
~15 seconds per page. Bull****.
Cool story, bro. What's it like being a stupid little kid?

Quote from Wikipedia:
Skimming is a process of speed reading that involves visually searching the sentences of a page for clues to meaning. For some people, this comes naturally, and usually may not be acquired by practice. Skimming is usually seen more in adults than in children. It is conducted at a higher rate (700 words per minute and above) than normal reading for comprehension (around 200-230 wpm), and results in lower comprehension rates, especially with information-rich reading material.
Another form of skimming is that commonly employed by readers on the Web. This involves skipping over text that is less interesting or relevant. This form of reading is not new but has become increasingly prevalent due to the ease with which alternative information can be accessed online. Some of the sentences have minor information which may not be needed for you.
I don't see why you should assail them, tons of people can read faster.
I think the most I've read is 5 Redwall books (~300 pages) in 1 week or so :what:

Whats it like being a failtroll?
I like how you did all the math involved, it shows how important arguing on the Internet is to you.
Again: I was speed reading, and if you have read Jim Butcher (Codex Alera, or the Dresden Files), you'll know how much useless description he uses, and how pointless many of the passages in his books are.
With most books, if I'm going to read them in one sitting, they'll take 4-7 hours (Excluding breaks), while this one takes much less time for the above reason.

Apparently you don't have reading comprehension skills because this is about a book he has to read for some class. For school. That is not done in a 'speed reading' or 'skimming' way. God, have your teachers never educated you people on when you should speed read and when you should actually, y'know, absorb the book and read it correctly?
OP didn't read the book truthfully.
He probably has no idea what exactly happened.
Maybe the rough outlines, but details no.
I doubt he could pass any basic test on the material covered in the book.
