Women were raised to be submissive for CENTURIES. If that didn't embed it in our DNA somehow, then iunno broski.
That wouldn't affect the DNA, but sadly the mindset.
But for sure, with the sole purpose of procreating the female of most species are not required to do much at all for that
If what ever had started this "belief" was reversed toward men all of those thousands of years ago, I wouldn't be in the least bit surpirsed if human females had the social "role" in most's mind as the men do now.
The utter irony is how this backfires on men and the double standard of being "impossible" for a woman to rape a man
But I'll just put the recently-above in spoilers for going off topic :chomp2:

Aye. But it was never so, since people noticed that women tended to be more "delicate" and "fair", and therefore deemed men the stronger/powerful/in power sex. It all boils down to the basics, really. Caveman standards.
I find that all those standards are bull and shouldn't mean anything nowadays, though~
But ironically, a lot of men still find themselves as the "rape-er", not the "rapee". Even in fantasy.
..Unless it's just me. ._.

[S]I think the term you're looking for is rapist[/S]
Also it's rather difficult for a woman to rape a man. It's possible, but still. Just sayin'.

Mmm, it depends. Drugs + tie 'um down = easy to rape 'um. Unless it's a very feminine guy and a masculine woman.
But it isn't very common indeed. I imagine female -> male abuse is more common.

Not to mention, our media portrays women hitting men as funny, or reasonable while a man hitting back is a terrible thing. I'd bet in many situations, a man would hesitate to use violence against a woman. And with guns/drugs/whatever else physical strength means a lot less and a moment's hesitation is all thats needed.

Both sexes should be hesitant to use violence against eachother unless it's for a just reason, imo. I admit, I too will be a bit more edgy if a man were to randomly start hitting a woman, self defense or not, but I believe you should be as gentle as possible toward any fragile person, male or female. Sadly, females just tend to be the more fragile ones.
Can't really yell at genetics, since it is what it is.

I heartily agree~
I've seen plenty of women that could easily dislocate a man's arm, but it does sadden to see that many believe these beliefs because those around them do/raised them to think so.

I would believe that to just be personal desire - either way both genders can be aggressive or passive.

I wonder what you mean - I'm just imagining the false thought of this not being involuntary :what:
Unless you are speaking of the muscle-difference

By nature? I wouldn't say that - I see it more of a "submissive attitude by desire" rather than "submissive attitude by nature".
Although if it were based on DNA and such, I believe it obviously more of "instinct to reproduce" than fantasizing about actual rape.
(But I am lacking in finding the source for this 'submissive by nature' you speak of, if you would kindly link for me to read) :what:
Ever see females mount the males in nature, or is it the other way around?
...thaaaat's what I thought.

It
could affect the DNA due to selection pressure.
But then again "4 in 10" isn't exactly a mind numbing majority, so that's probably not it.

I can't say I have any. All of mine are consensual. It's hard for me to think of rape....in a way it would be a "fantasy" of mine.

Kollin wrote on 2011-08-03 07:32
too bad rape is nothing like these women probably imagine it. its "rape" because you are completely against it, and wont find it enjoyable at all. "fantasies" are usually enjoyable, meaning there can be no such thing as a "rape fantasy" just a "forceful sex fantasy".

I was directing it more toward humans by the said 'girls' - I very well see the correlation from primeval beginnings -> general mating 'roles' with every species by instinct alone.
Earlier, I more of meant; that's to reproduce, not specifically to have this 'rape' fantasies - which I would believe more of a personal desire.
I meant more for a specific article - it is hard enough to find with the garbage that clogs up most searches :gloom3:
A point there - and then again I don't know exactly where these statistics are coming from :what:
Nor what general group of ladies they are asking, with that mix of different standards everywhere
↑ The sum of it
These people can claim to have rape fantasies, but hardly true when â–“â–“ becomes real.
