Cash potions, GGs were the first step.
But neither of these are ever necessary
at all. Even the hardest of raids can be completed with a party without all that much difficulty. Some may cause a couple losses, but, meh, you know what I mean.
Not once have I ever said, "man, I really wish I had those cash potions!" It's hard to chug through all the regular ones without dying, lol. At least for me anyway.
Goddess Graces, kinda, but feathers clear up that problem pretty well in most cases.
But runes have a substantial impact. If you lose a raid, you're down half an hour. If you lose a good item, you might be down 10 million.
I really don't consider this a "pay2win" game. The difference between a +5 and a +10 item is definitely worth paying for, but it's not "huge". Player skill will still play a muuuuch bigger role. As it is, you'd be paying to do something like 10-20% more damage, max. In a game like Vindictus where there are the RaidHunters of the world and the... "long term beginners", that 10-20% becomes unnoticeable except on the very highest level of play because on an individual level there's a huge skill gap, even within random public rooms.
If the episode 9 stuff is true, then sure, it might be a bigger deal. But I haven't seen a source saying it is so I'm going to assume it's just a rumor for now, because it seems pretty silly.
