Merely offering some suggestions in an amicable manner. My apologies if my gentle tone and peaceful phrasing were greatly offensive to you, mopermy, as such was not my intent.
You do raise the very point which gave rise to my offering suggestions for manners in which to contact those who wished no contact.
To simplify the work of admins and mods, the theoretical mod ignoring ability could be something that could only be unlocked after a certain amount of time spent on mabination, to learn the ropes. To prevent people who have merely joined, but not spent much time actually intereacting with the community from abusing this theoretical ability, it could be doubly locked; requiring both a set amount of time ( 6,8, 12 months after join date?) as well as a certain amount of posts (50, 100, 200?)

You missed the point.
Mods still do public warnings, post threads with rule changes, etc.
For example, let's say there's a thread called "Red" and then several people are like "lolblue" and then a mod posts saying "Guys, this thread is about red. Try to stay on topic or I'm going to have to start handing out warnings/infractions." and then you, who can't see said mod due to having them on ignore, come into the thread and "lolblue" -> warned/infracted/banned.
It's just not convenient. Not for users, or the mods.
If you do have a problem with a particular mod, or feel you have been insulted or wronged by one, then inform an Admin or Osay in PM, and appropriate action will be taken. Mods may be scolded or if it's bad enough, who knows, someone may lose their modship.
There is a certain way for things to be done, and ignoring a mod isn't the solution. If the true problem isn't seeing what a mod says, but rather a mod going around insulting people, then the real issue needs to be dealt with, not masked.
Anyways, I hope that's a more clear explanation.

It's only possible to NOT see someone who has posted via the New "Advanced" ignore. Previously, and currently on the Normal ignore, it shows you that someone has posted, but not the content of their post; just shows you a message stating that you have the poster on your ignore list, and offers you a button to click that will reveal their content.
Given how Ignoring functions, I have to agree that the Advanced Ignore should not be capable of being used on Moderators or Administrators.
But there doesn't really seem to be a negative side to allowing people to Normal ignore them; they'll still see that the mod has posted, and whether they choose to pay no attention to the mod is completely unrelated to whether the mod's text shows up in the initial perusal of a thread.

Sounds a bit too complicated for something that's just so trivial.
IMO, if you're part of a community where you can't stand the people who are running it, maybe you shouldn't really be part of that community in the first place.
The staff team here isn't perfect, but we've managed to run this site quite well for the past year and so months. In fact, that's one of the main reasons why people stick around Mabination in the first place. An "ignore a mod" feature seems to go against basic forum rules.

After experimenting with the ignore function, I came up with my latest post on the topic- doesn't need to be complicated even. I offered that other suggestion without having experimented on the matter, so the simplest answer would just be to allow only Normal Ignore on admins and mods.
And I agree- if a person couldn't stand even the majority of the people running that community, the solution is to leave. One of the people... not so much.

Even on normal ignore, you'd have to look at the post, just to make sure it's not a warning/infract.

Idris, just listen to the mods and admins. If you have that much of a problem with one of them, contact someone about it. Having an ignore option for the mods and admins is not a good idea. They need to be able to contact you publicly first to warn you, and if you don't see that warning: Congratulations, you've been banned for a repeat offense.
I'm going to be blunt now- Either you actually contact another admin about your issue, or you stop complaining about something you are not taking the actions to fix. It's getting annoying to see you whine about it, then refuse to contact the proper people.

Lilith- allow me to be blunt. Obviously you haven't read my posts here. Please do not comment on them if you haven't read them.
You have a habit of attempting to use a patronizing tone towards me. It had already grown stale the second time you attempted that. I have contacted both of the mods with whom I had an issue- one of them recognized that what he had done was perhaps a little thoughtless and stopped. The other one refused to acknowledge anything wrong. I have moved on, and it is strange that some twisted motive is being read into my every word (that is actually read, of course. Many of the posts that have questioned something I said lately have ignored the answer to the question that was part of the same post they questioned).

Idris, I know you don't like me, because I made a smartass remark, one that I make all the time if you look at me take action on things, and I personally don't like you, so I'm going to make this as blunt as possible.
THERE ISN'T GOING TO BE AN IGNORE MOD/ADMIN FUNCTION. No matter what you suggest isn't going to change the fact that the staff do have to be able to remain in contact with each member through all means on this site. You can opt out of having them be able to contact you through your email, but everything else requires you to be able to let the staff contact you. If you don't like a staff member, then you have to ignore them through your own willpower. It's seriously (or at least I thought so) not that hard to do, and we really shouldn't even need this upgrade, but if you can't deal with a staff member, bring it up with another one. If that's too much for you to handle, then just deal with it. And before you comment on how I'm "ignoring" your suggestion, using your "intellectual superiority", we did read it, but you are ignoring all of the staff members that have said the same thing, and that is that we have to be able to remain in contact with you as long as you are using this site. If you put them on an ignore list, even the normal version, they still lose the ability to be in contact with you at all times. Of course, then it's nobody's fault but your own should you get banned because you ignored a staff member after they said to stop whatever it is that you're doing. And if you can't stand the fact that you'll have to read everything I say, you are more than welcome to leave. We really don't need a super prude like you running around~
