This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. The content is provided as-is, from the moment of the last backup taken of the database in 2019. Like starpaw said, I use Ad-block when I see a sig/avatar I don't want to see again.
Perfect for gifs and other creepy things.
Easy to do that for images. Not so easy when it's pure text you know. I don't think ad-block blocks out text or quotes that is nothing but text. Either way thanks to the ignore thing I haven't seen him around hehehe.

It can block text or entire blocks of HTML if you tell it to, problem is it will block all identical elements, so if you block a quote bubble thing, good chance you won't see any of them. Unless they have unique identifiers like id="x".

Ya, which is an undesirable outcome naturally. I want to be able to see any other block quotes except THAT particular one that this one user had.

I don't like the principles behind the ignore option on forums of any sort, to me it seems immature, judgmental, and unrealistic (not that everyone who uses the ignore function possess these qualities, I just mean to say that that's what I tend to see going on). But I suppose it's better than people having verbal brawls all over threads. I don't think I'll be using it, but thanks Osay.

I used to think that same thing too. It really seems that way untill you find that person who you just can not stand. Then suddenly it's a blessing.

Never knew this feature even existed.
Although noone's ever annoyed me enough to even think about it.
Then again the only section i go to really are the mabi forums.
Not bean Rua or any other section.

I can see that being potentially problematic.

Ha, there's no "potentially" about it, imo.

I don't understand why some people are so against the ignore feature. Some people may be annoyed by one person and not by others...
Anything that person posts might be rude to one person and not others! Which is why that person isn't banned, ever think of that?
IF YOU JUST CAN'T STAND THE PERSON...WHICH HAPPENS
stay far far away! at least i do irl! :D that's like ignoring them isn't it?

Well, I agree with Kitae, just ignoring the problem and letting it run rampant isn't okay at all.

Well you could always just not look at their posts. But I guess I'd prefer this than huge arguments all over the place.
