  Please, staff wouldn't dare cheat on something so official and important. Now if these thread itself had a poll, it would be ruined already.
  
  The thing about showing user votes is that some people might ***** and flame at someone else about not picking them. You would think that all the members here are mature enough but I'm not sure.
  
  Also, if we do user votes, maybe members should just PM their votes to Fal. Since we can't really have a poll showing ALL of our members. For the poll to work, we staff have to choose who are important enough to go on the poll and that's not very fair.

  There was a nomination system created for vBulletin in vB3.6-3.7, and it would probably very easy to re-create for vB4 (Its mostly just re-doing templates).
  
  People click a button, and votes for that user are than displayed on a misc.php?do=nominations page, and the top 5-10 people are chosen that way (You can knock off people by getting nominated more, so only the top nominated people will show).
  
  It also auto-created a poll thread, and rewarded the user with a trophy image. It probably would be easy enough to tie into the market system/point system to reward gold as well.
  
  As far as showing votes: Make it clear if they start flaming, they'll get warned, infracted, or banned. Its honestly surprising that these aren't done as much as they should be.
  
  And I'll be honest, I never trust people to not cheat on polls, especially ones like this.

  I'm just saying that this is what worked there.
