Quote from Arsik;77529:
I say change the "person can only have one nomination" rule to "person needs two nominations to qualify". That way, it reduces the number of nominees considerably, and in the end has people that others want in it, not have someone already nominate their choice, and then have to nominate someone they don't really care for. And let the nominees have as many nominations as they can have. Again, prevents people from choosing someone they don't want. Of course, the person is still limited to the "one nomination to give out" rule.
People don't have to nominate if they don't want to. Having each person only have one nomination from anyone makes it easier for me to just skim through the topic and write them in the original post. And, if you just let people keep nominating people who have already been nominated, it'll be real fun going through the topic to find people who have just been nominated.
Quote from Chocklitshop;77532:
What would the nominee win?
I'm still discussing this with Osay.

But you can't deny that the requiring of a second nomination isn't bad. Otherwise, a person can nominate a troll and because of that, the troll will be able to be chosen (even if the staff is the one that picks the winner, which only points to favoritism from the staff), but with two nominations, the unlikely hood that the troll gets chosen is zero to none. And it's not hard to see if a person got two nominations or not. When you see a nomination, write the name down, and when you see the name again, either underline or circle the name to have it stand out from those that don't have two nominations. The whole "it'll be so fun to go through the topic to find people who have just been nominated" reasoning is nothing more than an excuse for laziness. o3o

BUT I AM LAZY.
Alright, I'll do that then. Although, staff should know that the winner should only be picked based on their performance in the community.

... and what problems have we been having with most of the community lately? That would instantly kill about 1/3 of the nominations I bet. Dx
*Edit: And even then, after going through the choices, if we have two people that do contribute without problems to the community, then it'll still fall to favoritism, because they're both the same essentially, and only one can win.

There can be trolls who will vote on the original troll nominee. I say we put in a minimum post count to nominate/participate.

This was the case (50 posts minimum) at the other forums, but some people here just post a lot in the spam section. That's why I didn't include it.

Then they aren't worthy. If they only post in Bean Rua then they aren't a major contributing factor to the forum. Just a spammy troll

Something that might work, is that you can't nominate unless you've been a member for so long.
A week or so.
